As for Asano, I kinda wanted him to survive because he really didn't belong in that world, he just got sucked in and caught up in things. I would have liked to see him sent back to Japan, even after what he did.

Now that she has settled many domestic problems, maybe she will focus on foriegn affairs now. So far we have seen that one neighbor has lost its emporer, another has a missing Kirin(and perhaps emperor), and one closeby kingdom is nearing collapse. There are plenty of story opportunities.

It felt like that since it was a saga closer, and an especially good one. The entire saga is wrapped up very nicely, yet hte story has plenty of room to continue.

It would be a good place to end the story, but it also leaves plenty of room for continuation. This episode really had a lot of great drama as well as the usual action. I suggest watching it a few times, I keep seeing more depth and meaning for each of the characters everytime I do.
