I tend to feel the 12K world is indeed closer to ancient China, but there is that period in ancient Japan that emulated ancient China and it was difficult to distinguish the two (as I posted in a different thread). I also know much less about ancient Japan so can't say more than that...

You should check the DATES of those other seemingly contradictory posts about the series length (which is what I'm assuming you're talking about). There will only be 45 eps for now.

I don't mind if they stop the anime right there (assuming 45 has good closure; but still really want Taiki) - but ...
