I don't quite trust ANN. And I'd like to know who *exactly* they're "quoting."

Besides, the OFFICIAL announcement of ending the series was in August last year. Look at Atosryac's translation post on the first page.

Through a friend in Japan; AFAIK certain things are already out of print anyway, so they're hard to find in normal sources. Er, I think.... Anyway, the calendars are (were?) available through CDJapan.co.jp, and they ship to the US (though the preorder dates may be past already). Oh, they had the ...

I actually have both bookmark sets and the collectible card set, but I think I'm going to sell them in a bit because after cleaning up my small apartment, I decided a big poster and two incoming 12k calendars are enough. ^^; (Actually, I want the sheet music for the piano score - trade?)

So, anyone ...

Dear Neko-Chan,

Yes, you are correct, but I was just trying to prove that Yoko was already an immortal by that time.

It doesn't matter if Sugimoto or En-ou were both unable to drawn the sword out. The fact is that Sugimoto hit on Yoko heavy but did not harm her for two reasons: she was immortal ...

Kirin beer has actually been quite popular in Japan for a long time, quite well known.

If you've already seen up to what's been fansubbed, you really should skim all the threads at least on the first page (that are of interest - e.g. episode discussions). Or search the forum for "Taiki" and such. A different site (linked from the 12ktp front page) is translating the novels, and it's ...

I tend to feel the 12K world is indeed closer to ancient China, but there is that period in ancient Japan that emulated ancient China and it was difficult to distinguish the two (as I posted in a different thread). I also know much less about ancient Japan so can't say more than that... :P

Good post, this is pretty much accurate from what I know of Chinese folklore, too; there is also a story concerning a chi-lin prophesizing Confucius's birth. Chinese chi-lin have never been involved in choosing an emperor, but have been connected to the emperor in other ways (IIRC, the appearance of ...

Frankly, wondering about this is a waste of time. There are any number of reasons why it's not as popular over here; genre, marketing, general availability, too long, too cerebral, too dependent on 'alien culture' folklore, whatever. I think it's almost entirely subjective. Sure you and others here ...

Well, you're the one who started that off-topicness, moon. :P And you even continued the "debate" a bit in your post.

This thread is about the stereo/mono output problem on some of Mediablaster's DVDs. Whether or not it's nit-picking probably depends on the audio setup you have or even plan to ...

Nice episode. Though a tad late. A tad spoilish (since I saw up to 44 already) - Atsuyu turns out to be a bigger creep, he's definitely leaning towards the evil side if we are talking about the D&D alignment system...

You should check the DATES of those other seemingly contradictory posts about the series length (which is what I'm assuming you're talking about). There will only be 45 eps for now.

I don't mind if they stop the anime right there (assuming 45 has good closure; but still really want Taiki) - but ...

Whether Gekkei should have allowed Tentei to pass on the natural laws is debatable, but it is difficult to ignore the deaths and those he prevented by his actions. It is clear that Tentei was in favor of punishing the Emperor and his kirin. In most cases (of what I know of), the punishment is ...

I do not think the fault is in choosing but in failing to show the Emperor the right path, even Gekkei aknowledges how radiant the Emperor was at first. ..

You're forgetting the fundamental issue that it's still the emperor's final decision in whether they will listen to their kirin or not. On ...

The kirin was supposed to be a merciful being and apparently that was a trait that Hourin failed to impart on the Emperor

Personally, I don't agree with this point. The way it's set up, unfortunately, is that a kirin serves the emperor and the emperor has absolute power. His word is law and a ...

Yes, it was a very big stretch; I didn't remember what Gekkei said exactly in that episode. ^^; But I don't think Gekkei is fighting against the system per se, because he never took the throne - after all, in ep (whatever), he said the purpose of the court was to maintain the land and status quo and ...

I found that particular point (Gekkei killing Hourin) troubling as well. He's this great provincial lord blah blah, and he just goes and does that to the poor kirin who was already suffering from shitsudou? The only way I could reconcile this was that Gekkei was putting Hourin out of her misery out ...
