I remember that at one point in the series, that teacher-dude tells Yuka that no Kirin has ever recovered from shitsudou. But we know that Keki recovered!

With the revealation in episode 39 that Enho is the legendary sage that bind Sui-Gu-Tou , he in turn must've been an immortal. You have to remeber that to the average civilian don't actually believe in Tentei just like us, for them it's not something that is completely definate.

Where did you see that? I know Rakushun makes light of the idea of praying to pass an exam, but that isn't the same thing as not believing in ...

In epsiode 8, when the Chouryuu attacked the flock of Koucho who were attacking the ship, Sugimoto's hinman was apparently drawn out of her, and zapped by the Chouryuu as were all the other youma. Well I can't say I'm happy about the dub. The first episode had so many inconsistencies in pronounciation. Just how hard is it to say Sugimoto? Uggh. And Keiki's voice is just off. Not terrible, but just not right for his character.
