I don't appreciate him as much as I appreciate what he has done, as twisted as that may sound. To kill the emperor and his kirin for the good of the people, even though it's a sin, that takes strength. To govern in the king's place without taking full power upon yourself, that takes even greater ...

yukina_raven from sharp_pastels makes some rather lovely Twelve Kingdoms icons on her livejournal blog. I recently discovered it myself, so you may already know the site, but I thought it was worth a mention, just in case. Most recent post: yesterday, which mean it gets updated regularly, so keep ...

I see. Well, I'm no fan of either of the two, so no loss here for not encountering them in the books.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Asano and Sugimoto [Spoilers]

I am currently reading Tsuki no Kage, Kage no Umi - Shadow of the Moon, The Sea of Shadow - and found out that neither Asano nor Sugimoto were actually traveling with Youko in the original version of the story. I'm about 2/3 done so I think it's safe to say their part in this story is now long gone ...

You know you've seen JK too many times when...

...You get a nasty arm injury and you actually think your Kirin will not get close to you now because you reek of blood.

Yep, I actually thought that for a moment today, before slapping myself back to reality.

Sorry to bring such a cliché thread on this forum, but that was just too disturbing not ...

That's why I said: "whatever his idea of fair might be".

It would be somewhat sad to actually find out he could spread those rumors. Oh, well, whoever finds that chapter is obliged to post it here. :)

There are not many JK wallpapers out there and unfortunately, as someone already said, a lot of them are horrible.

So I usually resort to good old print screen during a scene that I like and using that image as a wallpaper. Current one:

Perhaps it was Atsuyu spreading them . . .

 That made my evening.

Seriously speaking now, I doubt it. Atsuyu is too much of a stuck up bastard with a superiority complex to lower himself to spreading gossip. All he ever wants - besides absolute power and such, of course - is to prove that ...

Please don't do that. I'm not homophobic of something, but not Shouryuu.

And I thought I started this thread to talk about a picture...how did it turn into one about sexual orientation?

His insanity didn't make sense because he was the most calm and collected character.
It also doesn't make sense how Asano keeps himself so well kempt for their first few weeks in the place, but then turns into a scraggly looking guy who appears never to comb his hair.

It makes a lot of sense ...

I always find easier to re (-re-re)watch the last part of the anime, Sea God in the East, Vast Sea in the West. Mainly because it involves Shouryuu and Kouya, but not only that, it seems to me that those 5 episodes are the most light hearted and warm of all the series. Perhaps it's because the story ...

Sadly, the greatest series are never popular enough...

This is certainly true for Twelve Kingdoms. Each time someone asks me what is my favourite anime series and I reply "Twelve Kingdoms", all of them kinda stare in wonder for a few moments and then they let out : "Never heard of it."

To make it clear from the beginning, I can't clarify this for you. :)

It seems like ages since I last checked what was happening with Fuyumi Ono's writing, but from what I read in an interview of hers, she had started writing another book from the Twelve Kingdoms universe. I agree with the poster above who said we should not pressure it. As for the petition I signed ...

I can't say I had that problem because I was warned that the anime was not finished, so I enjoyed it the way it was. Speaking strictly from what I have read and know. There's no harm in getting a second opinion.

No, it is not finished. What happened to Taiki you can find out by reading Mashou no Ko and Tasogare no Kishi, Akatsuki no Sora.
But there isn't anything written about what happened to Gyousou  Yet.

There are so many of them that I like! From almost every dialogue you can extract a valuable lesson, at least that's the way I see things.

“Green mountains and fields. A rich kingdom where no one has to starve. No one freezes nor gets wet in the evening dew. A time of ...

Can't say that I'm a big fan of manga, but now I'm reading Claymore and I'm loving it. Nothing like Twelve Kingdoms though. I would recommend it to those who like Madhouse anime...dark, violent, heroes die on you too quick...Stuff like that. :)
