Ah no problem! The way I got my sketches were through Dealers in japan, some online stores located on the US as well as ebay (only once though). Finding sketches of Juuni Kokki is very hard/expensive. See sometimes after the production of an anime series the company actually destoryes all the sketches due to legal reasons. Unlike the US just because you create the anime series you dont actually own the rights to the sketches and in some instances can get quite complicated. This is what sadly became of Juuni Kokki as many of the sketches were tossed. The ones you see around the web etc where the sketches that were sold prior to the conclusion of the series. Because of this sketches are quite expensive and hard to find (high quality). If you are interested let me know and ill aim you towards some sites that sell the sketches but they are not cheap. I just also note that there are no "cels" of Juuni Kokki as it is a CG show (computer animated) however there are a few repoduction cels out there but they are hard to find. I should have one or so in a couple months ^^.zitch wrote:Sorry, I forgot to put down a response myself! Very nice stuff! How do you get your hands on those?
I posted a link to your gallery from my anime weblog (accessible through my sig).

I don't know if I'll be doing any buying for a bit. I'm changing jobs at the current moment, and taking a pretty severe pay cut to do so. Though, hopefully, that's only temporary...
Sure no problem! Use either one you like, actually i will be scanning in at least another douga set along with the next update (as long as i dont get lazy scanning them all in ^^). I got 1 of the two orders in. The other order is set to be shipped Tuesday or Wednesday via priority mail so once I get that one Ill do the update which should be this comming friday (hopefully).zitch wrote:Same here! I can't wait!
You know, those animated douga gifs would make great avatars! Mind if I use them?
Thank you! As far as book illustrations by Akihiro Yamada I have not come across any. As the books were very popular in japan I am quite postive they are all in collectors hands never to leave. This will be my last update for several months. Main reason is I have pretty much dried up my current source and also need to kick back a little and save some money for a changeElysium wrote:The sketches are amazing, very nice indeed!
I am actually more interested of the book illustrations by Akihiro Yamada than the anime itself, but I guess those will be even more ridiculously priced. (But on the other hand I remember seeing some published art books somewhere.)

That "Youko Provoked" sketch really caught my eye! Don't want to be on the other side of that stare!
Well luckly I dont have to worry about bandwidth as rubberslug.com (the site) is actually a free service that hosts art. Also all of them are JPG/JGEG except the two pans. The main reason is because the pans are so large when I shrunk them to that size and saved it in jpeg the quality of the sketch dropped so I tried BMP and it turned out perfect.FireMotion wrote:EternityOfPain: A small tip for you to save bandwidth: you should save your images that are intended for viewing on the web as JPG/JPEG, not as BMP. The images will pretty much look the same for us, but will load faster (which is a big plus too)! And will save you some bandwidth.
