Round or Flat?

I know this thread's a little old, but I sort of came to a thought about this subject a while ago. I hope no one minds.
We seem to be thinking in terms of Earth-size. What if the 12K were on a planet the size of Jupiter, or bigger? If we could stand on a planet that was as big as Jupiter, and look out at a sea, would we be able to see the curvature of the planet's surface? Or would it be so subtle, it's almost totally unnoticeable, and would only appear flat? And it could also be that the 12K are the only landmass on the planet.
But since this is fantasy, I could just simply take it as being flat. It's a little difficult to comprehend, but that's what makes it cool.
