I mentioned before somewhere in this forum that I'd like to see her return to Juuni Kokki world. Maybe part of a story set in a kingdom that wasn't properly explored, such as Han.

I think the only way you're likely to see that is to read my story. The ending left hanging with Yuka and Taiki was driving me to distraction, so I had little choice but to have at it. And yes, that was a shameless plug, the twelve kingdoms fandom doesn't get much traffic, so any hit is a good hit. I will take what I can get.

Though your signature brought a smile to my face, I am ashamed to say I'm a bit lazy with fanfiction. Maybe when I'm bored...sorry.

I love Gyousou too, he's awesome. I think he has better odds of having a long reign that Youko does, though I do worry that he's the sort who might get so rigidly stuck in his ways that he has a hard time adapting to a situation. And I'm also a bit concerned that he won't take his kirin seriously and therefore fail to listen to him when he should, but I guess that's to be expected when a king's kirin is so young an unworldly. Taiki's adaorable!!

I would like to have seen more of Gyosou's life before he came to Shouzan. He must have been one of the only good people around the palace, and must have hated a lot of what the former kings and their bureaucrats have been doing to Tai.

I know that in the most recent book (the one where Yuoko looks for Taiki) it tells the story of how he became the source of a proverb and earned fame as a world famous general in one mission he'd been given by his (then) king before he ascended the mountain. There's a really excellent translation of it by Eugene Woodbury that I unfortunately did not find a copy of before I started writing the Path of Sorrows, The Dragon Throne or I would have been able to get more details right. I also wrote an "interlude" on the TPoS,TDT that give a guess at what his life might have been like when he was serving alongside general Ansen (or Asen, actually... the blurb that I'd gotten the name from unfortunately made a typo). It involves the two generals and a hunt for a draconian youma.

I should stop being lazy to read material composed of only words.

oh, and there is finally some of the story of the queen of Kyou, (the twelve-year old looking one) translated too. She was featured only breifly in the anime but I kind of liked her. If the anime had put in the story about her I bet I would have liked her even more. It's pretty good so far though its only translated up to chapter two.

Yeah sadly it's not fully translated. It's the most interesting to me because the idea of a child leading a nation is interesting, and I like her interactions with Kyouki.

I just rewatched the first episode of 12k. If he didn't look so serious about chasing after Youko I'd have to make all sorts of jokes about Keiki going skirt-chasing! LOL. The interaction between Youko and Yuka in the first episode was actually sort of amusing, Youko approaches her in private after she fails to keep the class from teasing Yuka and Yuka's on a park bench reading... Youko's like "hey, aren't we friends?" and Yuka gives her this look like "i'm not going to dignify that with a response" and gets up and walks off. It's almost as funny as her eyeroll in the woods.
It's thier first night in the other world and they're camped out under a riboku, Asano is whining about his empty stomach, Youko is bawling about Keiki not being human and Yuka looks at them both, huffs out a sigh and rolls her eyes. Her expression is plain to see, she's thinking "I finally get teh big adventure in my life and here I am stuck out in the middle of the howling wilderness with a crybaby and a whiny mama's boy!" Just makes me lol.

Haha, I wish I could enjoy the first episode, but it felt so uninspiring. It's like it was holding back i quality to release as it delves deeper into the world of Juuni Kokki. It felt like some sort of teenager drama.

I honestly usually skip it in interests of getting on with the cool part of the show, but it did give me some insights into the characters by looking at where they come from first. My favorite arc is still the Taiki arc though, how could they just leave it hanging unfinished like that?!

I think I mentioned it before...they were planning to finish it, but the anime stopped after Higashi no Wadatsumi, Nishi no Soukai(my favorite novel) for some reason. Probably because Pierrot would rather spend budget on Naruto or whatever crap they started animating at the time.

If there were more to the anime I'd like to see some more of the emperor of Han. I like him and his preoccupation with aesthetics and the way he spoils his kirin. he's a funny fellow in the way he sees the world. He reminds me a little of the Hotohori from Fuushigi Yuugi and his rampant narcissism! I just really want to see him animated.

I never actually watched Fushigi Yuugi, heard it was very good. But I also want to see Han-ou: I love male characters with a good fashion sense. He must be funny like Shoryu, but in his own way, as in probably dictating the clothes his court wears and making them embarrassed!
