What's the deal with Sugimoto?

Hi, I have only seen up to 33 so far, so bear with me of this is answered in the later episodes.
What happened to Sugimoto? We spend all that time seeing her talking with Taiki back in Tokyo and then she vanishes.

Unfortunately, the last we see of Sugimoto, for now, is in the Taiki arc, which doesn't get completed in season 1. There's some posts that say the plan isn't to get it finished in season 2, either.
On a related note:
Anime Observer is translating the novel for the Taiki arc. . .

As soon as we return to Japan to take care of Taiki's story, I'm sure she'll show up.
It must happen. I demand it!

I was under the impression that Taiki's story was fairly important in the overall scheme of things. So they should be doing the arc on his return.

Indeed, but it's been mentioned here that episode 41 will begin the story of En-ou's early years as emperor, so it looks like there won't be a return to the present for quite a while. . .

I believe someone mentioned that that arc would probably run until about 48. That leaves another 20 episodes for them to fill. Someone said the next arc after that would be Taiki, but I see no other confirmation for that.
Even if the Taiki arc ran long, it would probably leave time for one other arc before the end.

He's a kirin. He has to go back and find the emperor of Tai (or a new one, if he waits long enough).
I really doubt he'll choose to stay in Japan, since Sugimoto's tring to bring those pesky memories to the surface, and everyone else hates his guts.

The Taiki arc will not cover what happens when Taiki is grown up and in Japan. It will cover the events leading to his return to Japan and the disappearance of the emperor. That is all.

anyway, nothing good must have happened to Taiki that caused his return to Japan. I remember that when he came back and appeared naked during his grandma's funeral he had a wound on his forehead.... it might be a wound done on falling but it may be some damage to his kirin horn......

How horrible for the people of Tai if Taiki never returns. They'd have to wait his entire life just to get a new kirin, then wait for that kirin to grow up, then wait for him/her to find a new emperor...

So we will never learn what becomes of Tai, because Taiki does not come back?
*wonders if the heavens actually grow a new Ranka if a kirin is gone long enough, or whether there will really be no new Taiki until this one dies, or returns...*
You mean, there is also nothing in the novels, Shinkun, or could it be that the whole Taiki-Ordeal still isn't finished?
I'm sorry, but I don't know Japanese, and, until I came to this forum, I knew nothing about the novels (and, strictly speaking, I still don't know a lot

). Are there still new ones being released, or is the 12k-cycle finished?
Greetz,

They'd better finish the Taiki arc! There's all this heavy foreshadowing on what happened between him and Gyousou... I thought for sure when that part of the story was completed, they'd explain why Taiki left for Japan (or perhaps was sent back?) and where Gyousou's hiding out and why, but they left us all hanging.
Indeed, this story arc is not complete. I'm not satisfied! Want more! *bloodthirsty look*

I assume that's the part of the story we will see. It's what happens now that they might not show.

Is that correct? NO WAY!
I want to see the Taiki return to Tai or something. I want to see the future, not why he dissapeared....well, I want to know that too, but I want to see him return MORE!!! ARGH!
I like Taiki's story the most...
There's nothing about his return in the novel, Shinkun? *wondering*
This make me think of a story about his return....AH! AN IDEA FOR FANFIC!

I thought Masyou no Ko (the novel) has covered Takasato's return to Tai. It was published a long time ago. If Pierrot doesn't cover this novel in the upcoming arcs, I would pout. A lot. Since I can't read Japanese.

... if taiki never returns, then that might be against the will of tentei, so he'll shitsudo and die... and a new ranka will appear...
or some such.
