this place needs more posts and more users. anywho, with the summary return of our beloved shinkun (many thanks go out to the stalkers and trackers who helped brought him home safe and sound), we will resume several previous, non-anime project. Coming soon will be the final episode 45, the last animated episode of juuni kokki as well as CD drama 2 and possibly the first episode of the World of the 12 Kingdoms special. And if shinkun feels REALLY REALLY productive, we'll also resume the novel translation. stick around and we'll see what happens. hahahaha

Didn't Shinkun already translate more of the novels? Maybe it's just my brain being well it self, but I remember there being more on the main page before the del rey rumors.

currently we're working on the novel that makes up youko's first arc. everything that's been translated is already online. depending on time issues and what not (we still got school and shinkun has a life outside of 12ktp *damn him!!!*), we'll see how much else we can do. we can only hope and pray, though tentei's been gone for quite sometimes now, occupied with the world of ffxi, and he might or might not answer our prayers. sorry. :(

First episode of the World of the Twelve Kingdoms special???

What exactly is it? Are you saying it's not animated?

i'm not sure, i haven't seen the raw yet. i've only got my hands on the wav. but from what i can tell, it's a discussion of the world of juuni kokki. similar to all the other kinds of "special" series. shinkun has more detail. *looks at shinkun for back up*

Welcome back.

Oh my ... I can't wait.

I heard that ep45 was a recap episode. Can you confirm or deny this?

And correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there another (further) 25 unaired eps? Were they ever made? Can we expect/hope to ever see them on a DVD release?

I'm so full of questions!

:)

From what I have read online, episode 45 is indeed a recap episode. As for the "remaining episodes", they have not yet been created. My understanding is that the novels which the series is based on have not yet been completed either, and the authors of the anime series wish to have more book material before they continue any further so they can flesh out the characters. It's sad that we have to wait for who knows how long to find out what happens next, but if it leads to a higher quality ending of the series, I'm all for it. Anyone else feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about anything.

with lots of pain i have to agree.
junni kokki's quality is the thing that attract the most (beside the amaizing plot)

I think Xanthe is right, but I also don't think the author is still writing novels...

Not writing anymore novels? I certainly hope that isn't the case. That would be really sad :(

Hello!

I dunno, I thought I read somewhere that, after a few year's break, Fuyumi Ono works on more 12k-Novels... but don't nail me on that, I don't have a source to show either... just thought I read that somewhere last year in Dec...

Greetz,
Shilahr

According to the AnimeObserver site, the author hasn't been writing since 2001... I won't link to it because some boards don't like that, but it says at the bottom of the Juuni Kokki page if you're wondering.

burn out?
that's kind of sad. hopefully the writer is moving on to other projects and takinga break and then will come back.

I hope there isn't any other personal reason... :_(

The world of JK is a large. UBER large. As far as I know, the anime managed to incorporate all of the novels except one arc, the one about the black Kirin, Taiki. The reason the second part of this arc didn't get animated was because they couldn't figure out how to incorporate it into what was the main focus of the anime: Youko's rise to power and her reign of Kei. The word is that they're waiting to see whether new novel material will emerge that will allow them to either make this nifty incorporation or to make a whole new story line altogether. In other words, like the rest of us, they're waiting for the novel author to start being productive again. However, as several of youse have already said, there hasn't been a new novel for some years. The bright side is that authors sometimes go for years before returning to writing more novels on a particular series. On the other hand, after writing so many books on just one "universe," authors also tend to drop it where it lies and write new stuff. Whether we'll be seeing any more novels and anime eps will only be determined with more time. :D

I'm still leaning towards the JK OAV theory. :?

Years

When 'Tonan no Tsubasa' was published it was in 1996. And when 'Tasogare no Kishi Akatsuki no Sora Pt.1' was published it was in 2001. (The Pt.2 of 'Tasogare no Kishi Akatsuki no Sora' was in 2001 too.) So the difference between those two years is 5. So the new books might come out in 2006!!! :o :( Let's pray the new books will come out sooner than that.
