Hi Kasei!

Well, why don't we write it ourselves?
I, for one, am planning to start writing on a JK-Fic right after I am done with my current WIP-Project in the David-Eddings-Section...

FanFiction.net needs more JK!

There is some at a site called Kirin Care for Beginners. Google for it. A word of warning though, the writer seems to be a true believer in Ruler-Kirin romance  . However, there is a very nice little story - Diary of a Frustrated Gourmand (I'm unsure of the exact title).

Well, if it means anything, I got one posted up in that section and have been thinking of another to write of.

But just to warn you. You should only read my stories when you're bored and can withstand my pedantic style. If you have the courage, my friend, step forward. :)

There is quite a collection on Fanfiction.net now. It is very nice to see that it is growing.

Yeah, it's growing, though rather slightly. And then, there's no assurance that it'll be quality fanfiction.

As tempted as I am just to see more fanfics there, I'm not so sure I wanna see the kinda stuff that fanboys/girls take too far. 12K, in my opinion, is far too dignified a series to be subjected to the whims of those that think with their libido.

Though, you have to expect that with any series, really.

Well luckly I havent seen fics like that so far. Granted I want to see Youko get romatically involved with someone(She's too awesome not to have someone intrested in her) but I want it to be canon. Not a OOC fanfic.

Argh, I am still wanting to write JK-Stuff...

... but about a month ago, I started watching Saiyuki again, and now I'm stuck in that category

And I can't write in different fandoms when I'm in the middle of a story - that would mess me up and make me write crap... But when my infatuation with the four pretty guys is over again (for a while...) I'll watch JK all over again and take notes :D

BTW: Just curious, of all of you here, how many do actually write on FF.net? Would be interesting to know...

Well... I do, for one.

I got one fic done and I'm working on two more. Won't like them as much as my first one, but eh, folks can't enjoy Psycho!Youko as much as I do.

And on top of that, I would *LOVE* to write a story about the Empress of Kyou. Her smile is down right predatory! I'll bet she gets a charge out of seeing Shoukei suffer. She's a great source of devilish giggles.

But anyway... in response to Silvermane; my biggest beef is the shounen/shoujo ai fans. Along with their rabid yaoi/yuri counterparts. I know, they're entitled to their opinion and I have to respect that. Still, I can't help but roll my eyes when I see shounen ai/yaoi, and I want to grit my teeth at shoujo ai/yuri because I know for a fact it's written by a member of my gender that wants to write about his wank fantasy. (though, there are the exceptions. One of my friends, though a shoujo-ai fan, is a bit more moderate than the usual fare.)

And as much as I would want to rip a new one on these guys, I must hold my tongue or else it would make me sound like a hypocrite.

Oh well, there's always the voodoo dolls. :P

>>Well, I'm a shounen-ai fan but only for shounen-ai series. I can't stand when fanfiction writers make characters OOC in order to do non-cannon shounen-ai stories. (Then again I generally dislike OOC-ness for any other reason as well.) It seems as though writers who only want to write shounen or shoujo ai stories should be able to stick with shows where those relationships are included or at least suggested in the original show.<<

Oh, I hear ya. It may not be the best of examples; but Utena is chock full of shounen/shoujo ai. And fanfiction about that with said subject matter doesn't bother me in the least, because considering the atmosphere of the show, it's not surprising. But if we gots a heavy shounen show like Dragon Ball... then we got a problem.

>>I do like stories about the relationship between Taiki and Gyousou, or between Rokuta and Syouryuu, as well as between Keiki and Youko, but that's because I think the bond formed between a kirin and their chosen ruler is one of the fascinating things in juuni kokki. But while that bond could certainly be considered a form of love, it isn't really a romantic sort of love. (At least not generally, although I would like to see a well written story about Keiki and his previous empress.)<<

Oh, yes. I don't doubt there is some sort of connection between a Ruler and his/her kirin. And they have to connect on some level or else there's gonna be problems. The King of Kou and Kourin as case in point. And I wish I knew more of the Queen of Kyou and Kyouki... she's got a snark armed and ready. :)

And there's a definate bond between Enki and Shouryu. Mutual slander. :p

>>Well, I'm starting to ramble, so maybe I should go back to Shilahr's question. I've tried writing fanfiction for a few other series I like, (I've currently got seven incomplete Rurouni Kenshin stories started, and one for Demon Diary), but so far I've never managed to finish anything so I could post it. I might try writing some Juuni Kokki fanfiction once the whole series is out on DVD, but probably not until then since I like to know as much of the cannon story as possible before adding fanfiction to it. Some other series I'm kind of toying with ideas for are Saiyuki, Mirage of Blaze, and (if I get ambitious enough to do the background historical research) Peace Maker Kurogane. It's still doubtful whether I'll ever finish any of them, though, since it seems like I'm a lot better at starting stories than completing them. <<

Join the club, my friend. Ideas are a dime a dozen, but completed stories from those ideas are once in a blue moon deals.

I've got ideas ranging from Soul Calibur, Zelda, Diablo, Warcraft, this, RK, to Tekkaman Blade. So many stories... so little time/motivation to get them done.

Heya!

Okay, my turn to show up: http://www.fanfiction.net/~divaurd

So far, most of my stories are non-anime-related; The only Anime-FanFic right now is Saiyuki AND shounen-ai...
Well, I'm a shounen-ai fan but only for shounen-ai series. I can't stand when fanfiction writers make characters OOC in order to do non-cannon shounen-ai stories. (Then again I generally dislike OOC-ness for any other reason as well.) It seems as though writers who only want to write shounen or shoujo ai stories should be able to stick with shows where those relationships are included or at least suggested in the original show.
Same here. When I read "AU" or "OOC" in the synopsis, I stay away from the story... after all, I don't want to read about Inu-Yasha being a normal human student in today's Tokyo (if your idea is good, make it an original fiction instead!!!), or about a badass character like Genjo Sanzo being all mushy and flowery...

As for shounen-ai: Agree with that, as well. Where I think that the characters could eventually end up with each other without being all OOC, it works for me. Otherwise, I don't want to read it. This is one of the reasons why I never got into the Star-Trek-Slasher-Scene (although I knew quite a few people writing FanFics like that for years) - because it was all forced, without any traces of attraction within the actual series.
Well, I'm starting to ramble, so maybe I should go back to Shilahr's question. I've tried writing fanfiction for a few other series I like, (I've currently got seven incomplete Rurouni Kenshin stories started, and one for Demon Diary), but so far I've never managed to finish anything so I could post it.[...]It's still doubtful whether I'll ever finish any of them, though, since it seems like I'm a lot better at starting stories than completing them.
Finishing a story is always harder than starting it. In my case, ideas pop up in my head and I start writing, without anything even resembling an outline, pumping out one or even two chapters a day, and I keep on doing that, until I hit a "dead spot", where I can't spontaneously think up how to continue. That is when I skip a night and try to work up a usable outline to work along. When that is done, I update more slowly in general, but usually make it to the finish line. All my multi-chap-stories have been written that way.

As for Juuni Kokki, I would like to see more stories about Rakushun - the mouse is one of my favorite characters, yet everybody seems to rather write about the emperors or the kirins...

Hi there twh! Same ole regie27 with a new name here. Good to see a fellow TA member around here. I noticed that ff.net had a jk section and was gladly surprised to see your story. I'm sort of a fanfiction sabatical but I hope to recovber my muse to end my incomplete works, as well as sink my teeth in jk.

About the amount of fanfiction and the yuri/yaoi trends, yeah, I've seen other fandoms fall prey of this trend rather rapidly and I just hope I don't see the same with jk. I have more than enough share of the trend with the constant pairing of a certain crimson clad ninja and a baker's daughter from a fandom we both write about and it woud really be sad to have the same here.

Anyway, physcho Youko was great and it would be interesting to see you develop a multi-chaptered fic.
