The Twelve Kingdoms Forum

Not only am I new to the forum, but I'm also new to the twelve kingdoms fandom. I've seen discs 1-5 of the anime and just completely fell in love with the characters and the plot. I can't wait until disc 6 is shipped to me next month!

Well, I have a few questions about the 12k series. I've tried browsing the forums but can't seem to find a definite answer.

How long is the series? How many episodes are out in Japan? I saw a post about the series being discontinued (or something along those lines.) is this true? I seriously hope not. If so, then I will definitely have to get to writing the fanfic ending myself.

The show has 45 episodes in Japan, excluding some of the CD adventures (that I really don't know anything about). It's been put on indefinate hold as far as I know, as the writer of the books has stopped writing. It's a shame, too. I think it was slated for 60 some episodes, but I'm not sure of the exact answer.

The series was orriginaly supposed to be 65 episodes long, however it was put on indefinite hold due to the fact that the novel story is not finished yet. The current length of the series is 45 eps long.

However the story is split into arcs. The main Kei arc with Youko, the Tai arc with Taiki and the En arc with En-ou. The Kei arc and the En arc are finished it is the seconed story in the Tai arc that is the 20 eps that are not there.

So the series does not end with them about to go off and fight the final villan and all that the section you see has a begining middle and an end then it goes on to another story. It is the final story that is missing. So if you are worried that you will get a sorry to be continued with lots unanswered do not worry it has a good stopping place.

Thank you so much for answering my questions. I really like the Taiki storyline, but it does make me feel better to know that the other two will be more or less resolved. I'm still going to hope that they continue to the taiki storyline, though.

I'll wait by writing my own Taiki fics. hehe

This is a novel translation site and it has translations of novels that have not yet been put into anime, namely some of the taiki ones.

As for when disc 8 is coming out, they've been releasing them about every two months, so I'd say sometime in October.
