The first FF I started playing was FFIX and I got hooked on. After that I went backwards all the way till FFIX. C= But I never got to complete FFIV and V XP.

I just luv Uematsu's music. Just to name a few.. [ffx]To Zanakand, [FFVI]Terra's theme, [FFIV] Theme of love etcetc.

I really like FFX but I was so disappointed at FFX-2. Think it doesn't have a strong plot plus the music sounds different.. [I'm probably too used to Uematsu's style XD]

Any FF fans around here? :D

I've been a fan of the series since the original Final Fantasy was released for Nintendo. It's the game that first got me interested in video games. I have all the numbered FF games up through FFX except for the one that was never released in the US (I think that was #3). I plan to get FFX-2, but probably won't get FFXI, since it moved away from the story-driven sort of games which is what they were so good at. :( I also don't have the spin-offs (FF Tactics or the Chocobo games).

FFX I never finished. I think it really overdid the side-quests. There were too many of them; they added little to no story of their own; and getting any of the characters' main weapons was dependent on them. I got fairly far into the game and decided I should spend some time on the side-quests so I could get some of the powerful items, but those side-quests took so long I eventually gave up on them. The real problem was that by then I'd forgotten what had been going on in the main storyline and what I was supposed to do next. I sort of wandered around for quite a while hoping I'd just stumble upon a trigger point that would kick off another story sequence so I could continue the game, but didn't have any luck. Eventually I just gave up on the whole thing. It's a shame since up until getting bogged down in the side-quests, the game had been really good. One of these days I'll start over from the beginning and give it another try.

I also didn't originally finish FFVII. In that case it wasn't because of any problem with the game, but just because I had a bunch of other things going on and got distracted from the game for long enough to lose track of the storyline. Currently I'm going back and re-playing that one (just finished the first disk so far). It's a lot of fun. Maybe this time I'll get through the whole thing.

??? Started at IX and went back to IX? I'll assume the later was a typo, but what was it supposed to say?

I don't know many of the song names, but definitely agree that the series has a lot of good music in it.

I thought FFX had the least side quests? Anyway, I only try to complete the side quests after I got the airship which was at about 4/5 in the game. Of course along the way, u need to complete certain tasks to get certain items. But it didn't hinder me too much. C= Sometimes I'll play twice the game, the first time to get an idea of the story, the 2nd time to get whatever I missed ^^.
As for FFX-2, getting 100% complete is like mission impossible to me. >_<

FFVII was one of the best FFs around, U gotta complete it! C= My fav villian's in it.

I think the earlier FFs were alot harder than the more recent ones, so when I finally finish it even when I didn't really played the side quests, I was like: At long last. I'm a person more interested in the story than getting items, unless I really luv the game.

In regards to FFX I don't believe the side stories detreact from the game. I actually quite like side stories as a general rule and when I find an RPG that has little to none of them I feel very depressed.

Getting the copmpleted versions of the final weapons was fun but also somewhat of a pain in the a$$. I never completed Lulu's weapon or Wakka's because they took too much time -_-.

Does or did anyone enjoy playing blitzball?

Anyway, I have yet to destroy sin but that's because I'm procrastinating and buisily playing other things...

Actually the only FF game I've ever beaten is FFVI-My first and favorite FF game.

I stopped playing FFVIII just before the final battle because I wanted to improve my stats then accidentally deleted my information. With 9 I only got up to disc three before my sister moved out and took my memory card along with the game. Though I've recently perchased the game I haven't gotten around to replaying it.

I borrowed FFIV way back when and played a good portion of the game but then I had to give it back :(

And I've only played an hour's worth of V, XI and VII.

I played seven at a friend's house back when it was first released and I just couldn't get into it. SHe yelled at me where to go and what to do for the best results and I never got around to checking it out on my own. Which is really a shame because everyone says its the best of the FF series.

Sigh. Oh well. I've always got Chrono Trigger that game rocks ^_^

It's not that I don't like side quests. It's simply that the ones in this game took too long. I don't like feeling as though I'm missing out on part of the game, so I always try to complete all the side-quests. But after all the time I spent playing blitzball and racing chocobos, I had lost track of what I was supposed to do next in the main storyline. I ended up stuck without any way of completing the game because I couldn't find where I had to go or what I had to do in order for the story to continue. (And I had really liked the story on this one until I got distracted long enough to lose track of it.)

If I go back to play this again, I'll probably skip some of the more time-consuming extras. Either that or else any time I take a break from the main storyline to spend some time on them, I'll write some notes to myself about where I had left off and what I need to do next.

Actually, FFX is one of my favorites. At least while I was playing it and involved in the main story it was my favorite. Now that I'm going back and re-playing FFVII (which I hadn't gotten very far in the first time), it may well be my favorite instead. There's several of them that are each good enough to be my favorite of the series while I'm involved with them.

Yes, that was another of the excellent ones. I've gone back and re-played games I hadn't finished the first time (like I'm doing now with FFVII), but FFVI is the only one I've gone back and re-played after I did finish it.

Has anyone played FFXI? After being a fan of the series up until this point, it seems a shame not to continue, but from the descriptions I've heard, it just doesn't sound like one I'd like. Then again, maybe it's just that I haven't heard a very good description. The real quality in the best of the FF series (like 6, 7, 9, or 10) is the depth of the storyline and characters. It seems as though, in going to an online format, Square has thrown all of that away for 11. With the more open-ended format of an online game, where everyone who plays it is a different character, it seems as though they couldn't present any sort of story, just a world and some activities to do there. Is there somehow more to it than that, or did they throw away their best feature in order to move to the latest popular format?

Yes & no? lol. I had fun playing at first.. especially wining against the al bhed cos they were like the stronger ones. Then it gets more annoying to force yourself to win even more tournaments just to get Wakka's weapon. Lulu's .. I just didn't have that much patience to dodge those lightnings perfectly for so many times....

I didn't manage to complete that game due to too much procrastination..school.. >_< But I think it was good. C=
Niwashi2 wrote:Has anyone played FFXI?
I didn't consider playing it since I know it's gonna be really different from the other FFs we've been playing plus it's an online game.. [more expensive to play XD] .. I prefer to play a one player RPGame with fixed characters & storyline. C=

I ended up really enjoying playing blitzball because it gave me a break from the story if I got stuck or If I just wanted to play FFX but not the story at the time. My only thing is now my group's too strong so it's really borring when I play against the other teams -_-.

LOL. You and me both. Though you must finish Chrono Trigger. It's the awsomest, possumest game ^_^

I'm too poor to play FFXI and like and I also prefer a fixed set of characters and storyline.

I love Final Fantasy!

Has anybody seen the remastered begining sequence for FFVII? It looks so good. But unfortunantely according to a friend of mine they aren't revamping the whole game or anything they just reanimated the beginning scene for fun or something.
