Strictly speaking, I like most of the characters a lot. Yoko and Rakushun probably top the list. I also like Shokei and Taiki a lot.
As for characters I don't care for so much? Heh... Keiki (though I haven't seen much of him in the novels yet). King of Tai. Most of the villain characters... well, except King Kou. I didn't care for King Kou at all until I started reading the novels. Now I kind of sympathize with him a little more.
On the anime end of things, I liked Asano a lot until he pulled the completely random "bat shit crazy" transformation in spite of being the most level headed person in the party originally. I don't know... it just seemed to break the character completely. I definitely like Sugimoto in the anime... at least when she isn't acting completely weird.
