Veeeerryyyy interesting... According to the Animated Divots site, 12kokuki's composer is Kunihkio Ryo while for HOMM4 the composer is (edit) Paul Romero, with Rob King supervising music overall. I don't see how (Kunihkio/Romero + King) are related, though, if at all. There was no word in the various blurbs/interviews that they used specific preexisting songs, only that it was Celtic themed. If rights were licensed, then it had to be through the gaming company, of course.

Postscript:
-Unless Romero used tracks from one of his independent works, where the studio wouldn't have to negotiate with the game company itself, only Romero/reps, I think. I just listened to the "Sea" theme - essentially identical with #8 Fuushun (kinda creepy). o_o

I'm pretty sure that atleast the Sea theme is an old Folk song because It also appears in the game Zanzarah as a sample sound.

Here's the sample sound:

I also think I've heard it in a movie once ^_^;;

And I keep finding songs from the Heroes of Might and Magic in other stuff too..and the other way round. So Now I'm convinced they are old Folk tunes. Now I need the original names of these songs *_*
