Shouryu Enki fanart

At last! At last! I've created another JK fanart! Huzzah! In case the title was a little vague, it's about En Ou and Enki. Lol ^-^ For those who say my other piece, Youshi, I suppose you were expecting my to work on rakushun next but alas, this was what I was drawn to complete first. Don't worry though, my next piece (which will hopefully be posted over the next few days if not today) will be a close up shot of Rakushun and Youko because I just love them so much ^-^

Sketching took place on three different occasions. I first sketched out an approximate idea of how I wanted the characters to appear on the page(mostly consisting of circles, ovals and lines. Later, I went in and actually gave them form and body detail. And then last night I finally got around to working in a background. (That in itself probably totalled about an hour to two hour's worth of work.)

THe colouring took three and a half hours with photoshop 5. I'm used to seven so this was a bit tricky. I had to do each level of colour separately where as with seven I'm used to being able to change the oppacity on the same layer without it affecting the rest of the layer. It worked out well though I think.

Anyway I suppose I should offer up the link to said piece nee?

ooh.. fanart. :D
I'm not very good in drawing myself .. I like how you draw the clouds and the sun's reflection on the water. I like Shouryu's hair too. ^^

Others.. I think you can work on Shouryu's body. He looks a bit skinny and his arm's a little jelly to me =x Besides that, great try and I look forward to more of your works. ^^

Oh, very good setting. The characters' personalities do shine out very well, but I'll agree with Yuna-ling on both the "I cannot draw" and the "body looking a little skinny." I remember Shouryuu being describe as someone looking more like a brute but very gentle. Ya know what I mean. Gentle giant kinda thing. ^_^ I like those...hehe.

Thanks guys. For those who didn't read the blurb on deviart, I'm fully aware of En Ou's wonky look. I've been messing around with a new style lately. I'm drawing very skinny elongated people right now. (Maybe I've been reading too much by that girl who created Para Kiss...) I don't know why but I liked his spaghetti lankyness. Of course I understand why you'd be put off by it, since he is supposed to be better built up. I've captured their spirit's but their appearance is off and that can be very jarring to the devout fan. I'm just messing around right now but don't worry I'll get into a more JK style in time.

For instance, one of these days ("maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but someday") I intend to create a small Juuni kokki fan comic which I'll be posting online. I started storyboarding now I just need to get back into the mood. When and if I get around to completing it, I'll show it to you guys. ^-^

Woo, if you do the fan comic, let us all know. We'll celebrate. I'll be there with bells on. :P

That's really good. Enki's expression is priceless. But I think you should do a companion piece to go with it - one where a disgruntled Shouryu has just been the butt of Enki's joke.

I'd love to see your fan comic when you get around to doing it. There aren't enough of those around. Lots of people post fan-art or fan-fiction, but somehow the combination seems to be unusual (at least in English).
