How to Pay Tribute to JK

Hey there. Let me start off saying that this is a topic I've been meaning to bring up for sometime now.
Fanart, fancomics or doujinshi, music videos and cosplaying are very common ways of paying tribute to the series one loves but it occured to me that there are more interesting and unique ways of showing your love for a series.
For instance, although I've yet to do this as it would take me a while to do, I always thought it'd be neat to make thirteen small cakes in the shape of the twelve kingdoms and the Kirin's birth place ^-^
Or what about creating chess pieces in the likeness of Youko and her allies vs King Kou and his allies-or simply one kingdom against another- doesn't exactly match up with the idea that kings and queens are forbidden to war against each other but it'd still be fun to play with a chess set modelled after our favorite characters.
I had a few other ideas but I can't seem to remember them at the moment.
If you could, what would you make or have made with a 12 Kingdoms theme or influence?

If i could, make it I would, but.. since i can't i'm just going to dream about it...
I'd love a 3-d puzzle of the kingdoms and the palaces

oh and little youko and keiki piece that come with that.. (heck.. i want a BIG BIG doll house like the 12k XD )

I would love the 12k chess set.. very cool. Very tribute thou very little..is to have 12k wallpaper in office where i can show off to all and introduce them to watch.
Letting others to know and watch and make an influence in them is sure something i would like to do.

How about - sew the costumes in barbie and ken doll size. That would be fun.
Also, the scene where Rakashun shows Youko the 12 kingdoms using rocks was cool. Find some flat rocks and paint them to match the ones Rakashun used.

Key chains of the 12th kingdoms? Theat can be done and quite cheap for the material production too.
Let us create a hotass 12k pic and print on shirts..

Shirts would be awsome ^-^ 3D puzzle, wow that would be good too.
Let's keep these ideas going!

Ah! Dude that's golden! I think they're remaking the my little pony toys. Almost everything from the 80's is making a come back...

If I am an expert, I will make clay figurine out of the 12k and paint them and display the 12 kings and kirins in my hse.

This is an important thread. I think it's not about paying tribute, its about preserving memories and legacy of this manga/anime.
I cannot find 12 K merchandise and avatars even now. I am thinking of printing out some graphics as photographs and make a private album collection.
I am currently trying to buy a music CD of an anime made 25 years ago and although the anime is ranked 19th by Asahi TV last year, the merchandise which haunted malls for almost 2 decades has disappeared due to copyright lawsuits. The music CD will cost me US$50 if I import from France or C$35 if I buy through friends living in France. Rediculous! I am now trying to preserve memories of animes I like so that this won't happen again.

avatars i can help to make with my not so good skills but hope it helps? And we could go make keychains from the avartar we make? Else if its other things it can be quite costly... unless we have a person who have deals so we can all make and buy ^^

Yes, if you are able to create avatars without infringing copyrights, that would be great, its not easy to find free 12 k avatars. I don't understand how we can create key chains using avatars. Can you explain?
It is pointless to sew doll cloths if there are no dolls. However, if you can draw paper dolls and design cloths to fit them, this idea is easy, fun and creative.
I like the T-shirt and Chess idea. However, the items must be lasting, preferably something tangeable that won't wear and tear with time.

There are dolls - barbie dolls come in may sizes (men, women, teen, child, and baby) and races (might have to mail order) and you can even paint and style their faces and hair. Doll collectors do it all the time. BTW - these may start off as an off-the-shelf doll, but by the time the designer finishes with it it looks custom made. I think I am trying to talk myself into it... I'm nowhere as good as they are but...

I think if we take the pic out of the anime itself...and give the nessary copyrights and credit to the original cretors. It might be all right. Of course I will send an request letter to them and see if they allows it. As long as its not for commercial use I think it might be ok.
After we have the avatars, we can use the small little pictures to create keychains.. I know there are some business who are into this kind of products.
Am happy... the forum seems to have more posting.. ^^

If it is ok to take a screen captures from the anime and convert them into avatars, I am able to do that. Sometimes copyright rules really eat into me.
I noticed if you scroll down in this forum, there is a thread on "Avatars", there is a link by Zitch.
I shall find out more about creating keychains and T-Shirts.
Nightchaser: I did not know such dolls exist.
Thanks

I think if we can get pictures... whether by drawn or from the screen capture.. we can also print it on cups and mug...

I bought a key chain with a mini heart shaped photo frame. I printed En-Ou and Enki avatars and shaped them for the key chain.
Souvenir
engraving in Canada:
www.keymanengravables.com
This company engraves only in black and white. Engraving is more lasting. I'm not sure if 12 k photos will appear good when engraved. I'm still trying to find someone who can engrave color photos.
I visited Staples (Canada) today and found T-Shirt transfers. Look easy to use but I'm not sure if it actually works. I also found empty folded cards made with photo paper. We can print out 12k greeting cards with that.
You can see I'm serious with this....

perhaps its my age! I now make sure I keep tangeable souvenirs of animes I like.
