Find it kinda dissapointing that I can easily get them over the net, but its damn right impossible to get R2 DVD's of the series.
I've looked and since I dont have a zonefree DVD player I'm pretty much up the creek if it's anything else than R2..
As for japanese, I don't understand it so subtitles are a must..
Kinda wanna lend my support to the ones making the good stuff atleast.

You can get the Region 2 (NTSC) discs from several places:
CD Japan:
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/Listups/anime/12koku-ki.html
Amazon Japan:
http://www.amazon.co.jp
(need Japanese capable browser; search for 十二国記)
Amotokyo:
http://www.amotokyo.com/default.asp?mai ... DVD&navi=7
Anime Jungle:
http://jungle-scs.co.jp/en/
(used and new; selection fluctuates a lot)
I ordered/preordered the 1st 7 discs from Amazon Jp when they were offering 15% off (hey, it covers shipping costs

), but it looks like the discount's gone for now.
Happy buying!

Thank you.

This help is very much appriciated!
I have been looking at the sites now, and the cdjapan seems to be the easiest for me to look trough, altough it states that the DVD's are without subtitles and NTSC format.
Question then is wether I can play this NTSC on my PAL system, maybe the DVD player can handle it..or I can probably play it on the DVD player on the computer maybe...
But, the question still remains, no subtitles, so I guess im out of buisniss until the situation changes.
Also..err how much is a japanese Yen worth in pound or dollares these days?...
Last question, if you bear with me...
Atosryac, the ones you pre-ordered was RAW format I presume?..
In advance, thank you for your help.

Ah, so you _are_ in a PAL region. You'll have to check the specific model to see if it'll handle NTSC. Some players (like mine) can be modded to handle both NTSC/PAL, but I've never bothered beyond modding for region and getting rid of Macrovision.
This site has info on fixing DVDrom firmware:
http://www.firmware.fr.st/
(Disclaimer: I've not used the techniques described here, so proceed with caution.) There are also sites that either sell region free/switchable DVD players or have instructions on how to mod players, but I don't remember them off hand -- I can look them up if you'd like.
And yes, all the places I listed sell original Japanese (so usually unsubbed, with a few rare exceptions) DVDs. They're all reliable sellers I've dealt with in the past.
For exchange rates:
http://www.xe.com
Anf finally, a head's up for anyone else buying R2 discs: Amazon Japan just put the 15% discount back on for Juuni Kokuki disc 8.
well...

It seems that R2 non-japansese speaking PAL only people are really up shit creek when it comes to anime hehe...
Seemingly I'll let patience win and maybe look for Haibane Renmei if it has any possibility of being launched nearby, I saw some EVE stuff in shop in the capitol(Oslo,Norway) maybe they will get more stuff, altough I'm a bit picky so I won't buy EVE though...
Thanks again for the assistance, the links will be nice anyway, altough the piracy takes it's toll, I would have never known about this any other way, there is simply nothing similar here at all...
In advance

"Where there's a will..."

Then again, once you start down the path of buying R2's, it can be kind of habit-forming. BTW, Haibane Renmei is supposed to be coming out in R1 (US release) as well, if that helps.
Blah, looking through the research I'd gathered before, I've realized it's been a _bit_ longer than I'd thought since I went shopping for DVD players, so most of the links I'd saved are out of date. ^_^;; You'd be better off asking the people on the
www.animeondvd.com forums (either Hardware or possibly Region 2-4 is prob'ly your best bet) if you really want recommendations on players. Plus, there are other EU-based people there who might be able to help you with the PAL/NTSC issue; I know there are converters out there, but beyond that...<shrug>. Just don't go mentioning fansubs or, worse, bootlegs, on AoD -- some of the posters there can be very touchy about those subjects. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Your help has been very valuable, I had no clue even where to start, anyhow I will check out animeondvd for more clues, and most likly if I can afford it swap my dvd player for a regionfree one atleast.
Just have to hope I have the money left to actually buy the DVD's when I'm done hehe..
Currently Haibane and Twelve Kingdoms are high on my list..but I wish they had done like they did on the faboulous Black Adder package I got ..
The whole series nicely put on 5 DVD, 1 for each season..
Extremly good buy...
well err..Cowboy Bebop is also on my list..err..who needs food anyway!!..
With regards
Jan
