Hi,

I started building a 12k website out of bordem but I am now feeling stressed over this.

I cannot decide what to include. What do you want in a 12k fan website?

Do you know who owns this forum? I want to do a link to this forum on my main menu which cannot be easily changed once I do the link.

I thought Tentei did but I haven't been able to contact him.

What It'd like to see in a JK site are:

1. Character states. Who doesn't love character info.

2. Kijuu, Youma and Shirei guide. What kinds of creatures have been introduced to the series and who owns/holds control over them, or are they wild.

3. Novel Info (for newbies or those who have little to no access to the translations)

4. Anime Info. Episode synopsis? Story arc synopsis? Known reasons for the series discontinuation?

5. Rumors both novel and anime related. (and debunking them) Sometimes they're interesting. I love reading about series rumors. ^-^

6. Comparing the series thus far to its novel predecessor.

7. Your thoughts on the series: essays?

8. You could do an image gallery but it's a little taboo in some circles. Some artists/authors/directors/creators hold grievances towards images galleries. It's like your giving people a free peepshow of their work or something to that effect. Plus images take up alot of space. Fanart/fancomics could be a better use of space, but that depends on how fan oriented you want your site to be.

9. Fan stuff is always good. Fanart is a nice way for you or your visitors to pay tribute to your site and the series (unless you have concerns with space)

10. Fanfiction is also good to host. I usually takes up little space and it's a good way to keep your site going if you run out of information about the series.

11. Once you get popular you could always start up your own forum.

Where can we read about such rumours? This is interesting.

I will surely not do this on the website. It is a working rule for me to keep personal opinions out of projects.

My current design has no gallery but it is graphics intensive. This worries me greatly. Usually, in my work, we officially apply for copyright clearance to use images. May be, I have to do the same here. Meanwhile, I am going to cut down on graphics but talking about life in the 12k without accompanying pictures is not efficient. The website becomes boring.

Fan art and fan fiction is ok if there are not too many.

Avatars and Wall Papers. I thought of editing a few images but i'm spooked by copyrights. It is not easy to find 12k avatars and wall paper online.

Have you visited http://inuyasha.nu? Art of perfection, a tribute to Inuyasha. I love how he stream the music with flash. There is no violation of copyrights when music is streamed in that way because it cannot be downloaded and the site is password protected. However, he still needs to get permission from the recording companies and artists to stream the music. That website must have cost him a lot of time and money.

Would you like to include such a page if someone else wrote it? I'm not up to putting together an entire fansite and maintaining it, but I could probably put together a page worth of one.

If you're really concerned about including images from the show, this might be difficult, however. For instance, I could do a page that shows a picture of each shirei, gives its name (in Japanese and English), which kirin has it, and perhaps a little bit of description of its abilities or where it figures into the story, and that could make a cool page. However, the same text without the pictures of each one wouldn't work nearly as well. It would have to rely on a description of what they look like in order to tell them apart, and that isn't nearly as effective as including a picture. (Not that it couldn't be done, of course. Even just a text page might be better than nothing. But it wouldn't be as good as the page with images.)

Yeh, for me, its the content. I am not accurate with content. Copyrights to art work is also messy. The 12K has more than one artist.
