Just thought I'd ask if anyone else was either currently working on any Twelve Kingdoms cosplays, or planning any for the future.
I'm currently working on an Enki/Rokuta costume, and I have my sash and necklace done, and just styled my wig tonight.
Here's a picture of my necklace I made
and here's one of the wig I styled, hooray for mullets! (ignore me, I look evil in the picture, don't have binding on, and have brown eyes, but all that will be fixed later ^^) I do however, have a Juuni Kokki shirt on, so I get bonus points for that. lol
Does anyone else have any JK costume pics they want to share, in progress or finished? I'd love to see!

Nice start so far. As for myself cosplaying isn't for me.. But keep at it. I'd like to see the finished product

aw wow! That's pretty cool. The expression on yor face is kind of like a pouting Rokuta though. I'll just pretend Shouryu said something you didn't agree with. lol ^-^
I would love to do create a costume of Youko from her wagabond days in Kou;in her sudochina men's clothes. Or the armor clad Youko from when she's involved in the Kei rebellions against the corrupt official... but... I don't think I have the patience to make a good costume...

Thanks! LOL Like I said, I look evil in that pic, I was just trying to look down a bit so the top of the mullet could be seen better by the camera, but I ended up looking kinda mad.
And yeah, costumes do take a lot of patience (and time) to make, or a lot of money to commission someone to make, but that's always an option if you really want to cosplay, some of my friends commission stuff. Sadly, I was always too broke for that though, couldn't afford $100-200 for each costume, so I learned to sew and stuff out of nessesity. ^^;
I'll post a picture or two when I finish the costume though, I'm hoping to get some pictures with my friend who's got a nyosen costume in the near future, and then a Youko cosplayer I know too! ^_^

I probably could pull off Shoryu, through I'd need to get a wig. Actually, I might be able to pull it off with my hair if I let it grow out. It definitely has the black color to match his. The waviness of it when it gets long can be fixed.
Then again, I don't plan on cosplaying, though. Hmm, I did think about wearing a yellow scarf to a local con, though...
Oh, do get some pics up when you finish the costume! I do remember some older threads about cosplaying 12K characters.

Yeah, I just found the old threads, there were some neat costumes, a couple I hadn't previously seen anywhere else. ^^
Yeah, using your own hair is always nice, especially when the charcater has his hair in a high ponytail like Shoryuu, that's really hard to do with a wig. Wigs in general are a pain. It took me forever just to track down this one for Enki. I was being really picky about that color, I didn't want just blonde like most of the Enki's I'd seen, since his hair is actually that golden yellow color. It took awhile to find one in the color that was also a suitable style that could be altered into his mullet, but I finally got my hands on one.
We're going to have a small 12K meetup at Acen this year, get pictures, talk about the series and novels ect. No idea exactly how many people will actually show up, but I know at least a few will. ^^
