It's so good to see Juuni Kokki again after a bit of a push-back.

This episode seemed to be done by the B- or C-string animation team... decent for most of the scenes, but the faces were just off in several scenes. In particular, the late-night talk was definitely a little lower quality than usual. It did give an interesting look to Youko near the end, though. One odd untranslated term, "fumin." It wasn't explained in the show, it isn't in the notes... maybe the Sexy Commando Club came and burned the place down? Was it just completely unclear from the show's context as well?

But that's okay because, between Sonshou and Suzu finally meeting and sharing war stories and the storm a'brewin', the last few episodes shoud indeed be kicking of the radical in more ways than one.

I wonder if Youko associating herself with the rebels is a wise move in the long run, although it's a decent step toward getting things under control. I guess the end will justify the means in this case. Everyone's going to be rather surprised when Youko finally gets back to the castle, though... if she hasn't been delared dead already.

I was wondering when the happy little tune in track one or two of one of the new soundtracks ("Rakkou") had been used in the show, and here it is in this episode. A little happiness is a nice diversion from the lessons on The Superior Ruler every once in a while. And even Shihouka, for a bit. I think I'm going to have to check the local import store for more Juuni Kokki soundtracks soon.

But why do I get the feeling that the next episode would be the perfect change for a rendition of "One Day More" from Les Miserables?

Yeah, fumin are basically drifters or nomads.

Ahh

Another 12k episode fix to make sure the addiction don't wear off.

Thanks for the release!..

On the episode, I noticed that Asano was counting bullets, I belive I saw two maybe three left in there, but it was hard to tell...

As for the quality of the episode, hmm well I don't know much about this ,but now that you mention it, it looked a bit like they had a deadline problem somewhere hehe..too much sake mayhaps..

Anyhow the plot is going somewhere, and I look forward to see more.

Question is of course, will the rat come out and make an apperance?

Oh My God.. That was the best episode yet! I just LOVED the ending.. In a short of hate-to-love it way. Things are really getting interesting now.

Rakushun's no warrior mouse. How long will it take Youko to level Meikaku? An episode? Two? That still leaves time to go back to the palace and start to deal with the corrupt minister infestation there, but not much. I doubt we'll see any of Rakuhun before the new arc until the last episode, if at all.

Give a rat a sword and -anything- can happen :)

our two lil princess got to meet aswell..and had a jolly first meet, I must say that personally I'd rarly say that much to anyone on a first meeting, but they say that people where I come from are cold and boring, so I guess I'd be that.

Altough I've met people who have voulenteered their entire life history, and I find that a tad boring at times.

Bwahaha, Rakushun with a sword? Hmm, given the level of skill & coordination he shows in his human form (ep 22), I'd be more worried about him harming himself, let alone an opponent. And somehow I think those thin gnarled rodent arms might make it difficult to swing a sword in rat form. :P

...... O_o at Mo-pantsu's sig. ^_^;

I think Rakushun with a sword would look pretty silly. Anyway, he's a "the pen is mightier than the sword" type. Anyone want to make some bets on Rakushun Vs Enho...? :)

We have a cool last scene with Youko smiling while holding up a sword and saying "It can kill [an immortal]". Very nice. That's enough with main characters holding swords I think. Is Youko going to kill anyone though, or will she do the lawfully correct thing and arrest him...?

Hmm, Shoukei sure has matured. She's pretty smart too. Suzu still seems rather childish, but doesn't seem hopeless anymore.

Anyway, looks like things are going to hot up in the next chapter - ie major action starts taking place.

Hey, don't underestimate the level of coordination a giant rat can possess.

Good point, and that's why I worry about Youko taking action like this. If she can pull it off without being recognized, then she can get away with it (except for Keiki, who will know by the blood), but she'll appear not to have acted at all. If she does reveal herself, she jeopardizes her reputation as an empress by showing that she might fly off the handle and deal with things using local gangs, which could cause trouble later with groups carrying out vengeance and pointing to her actions as justification.

And on top of that mess, there's Sonshou's group, which is planning to set a fire big enough to draw her attention. I think I might know how she can at least be in two places at once, but how can she appease all these different dissidents? It's a very delicate situation.

And on top of all that, if anyone finds out that she's the empress, she won't be able to sneak out of the palace anymore anyway, which is boring. :p

She'll come around in time... I hope. She can start by apologizing to Sai-ou and spending another 100 years as a servant. :P

Yes. ph34r the r4t!

On the local gangs front, Youko has gone off and done plenty of irrational things before... and from the look on her face in this last episode it looks like she's about to do it again

Oh well. 33 eps to go! (Or not!)

Has Yoko killed anyone so far? I don't remember...

I think if she does kill someone now, even if under disguise and no one recognizes her, Tentei will know.
