Gyousou in Hourai? Now that's an interesting idea.

As for who attacked Taiki, it's been rumored to be one of the characters introduced in the Kasyo no Yume -- Toei story.

I like GiTS:SAC for the plot and the scene, I did not expect much character development. It's like a really good cop show, with cyborgs and politics and morality plays all in great detail.

I thought shows like Scrapped Princess, Last Exile and even Stellvia to some extent have a problem of having ...

The logical reason for dubbing is to reach audiences other than the usual fans. That means more money for the anime companies.

I think the reason why the subbed VHS was more expensive was because the usual fans are willing to shell out money for them, and the distributors knew it. It also helped ...

Do you honestly think the people would let Hourin live much less follow whoever she chooses to be the next Emperor? Creature of god or not, she would not have escaped the wrath of the masses. Gekkei would not be able to protect her and if he believes that she carries half the burden of punishment ...

As you have already said and what prompted Gekkei to take action, the Emperor was set in his way and from what we know of shitsudou, he and his kirin are doomed to death. Gekkei merely hastened the blow. So if we take out Gekkei in the equation, Hourin would have eventually died along with her ...

I find it hard to believe that a creature who has the power to choose the ruler of a kingdom could not do more for the thousands that were slaughtered because of that ruler's insane and irrational behavior. Unlike Shoukei, Hourin knew full well of what was going on, without benefitting from any self ...

This is quite true in our world but in the world of Juuni Kokki where there is a true heirarchy of immortals that goes all the way up to God, the actions of mere mortals become a lot more scrutinized within their lifetime, instead of waiting for judgement in some belief system's afterlife. It ...

In many ways, Hourin was to blame and as Gekkei sought to punish the Emperor for the injustices done to the people so must he exact the same amount of punishment to the kirin. The kirin was supposed to be a merciful being and apparently that was a trait that Hourin failed to impart on the Emperor ...

Even if it did matter who becomes the surrogate parent and who is robbed of their child ie. fate, it does not invalidate the reversal of the ranka-taika process. That is all there is to what I'm saying. I thought that perhaps the bilogical nature of 'birth' for Hourai humans is clouding your ...

Nobody said life is fair. Most likely the child becomes a riboku fruit for an expectant couple. That's what usually happens to taika, right? Nobody has really cared about who the expectant parents were. Otherwise, we would care more about who Youko's parents really are. I think biology is impairing ...

En-Ou is just too much of a player to keep Youko happy. He might just drive her crazy enough to become a bad empress.

Keiki and empresses don't mix. It's just not gonna happen.

Rakushun is the only way. He will show Youko that he's Mighty not just for his wisdom.

How about the reverse? The fetus leaves the womb and is transplanted to a riboku?

Most kaikyaku die after being swept into Tokoyo by a Shoku. The odds of a pregnant woman and her child surviving are quite low so it may never happen.

In epsiode 8, when the Chouryuu attacked the flock of Koucho who were attacking the ship, Sugimoto's hinman was apparently drawn out of her, and zapped by the Chouryuu as were all the other youma. I've always wondered, does anyone pick up the license to release anime in Europe? I'm not familiar with European anime companies so maybe AnimeWorks has it as well? It must be expensive, since it is another region and there's that PAL/SECAM format.

I'm not as critical on the dub as you are. It could be that I've watch enough other titles in both dub and sub format that I've developed a less sensativity to dub than you. It could be that I've heard some truely horrendous dub (Crest of the Stars) as well as some very good dubs (Cowboy Bebop ...

Well I can't say I'm happy about the dub. The first episode had so many inconsistencies in pronounciation. Just how hard is it to say Sugimoto? Uggh. And Keiki's voice is just off. Not terrible, but just not right for his character.

The good stuff, everything else is there and I finally get to see ...
