I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that the critters in 12K that can fly (without wings) can do so due to magic and that it's not a matter of physics. Also you might want to note that the only people ever seen leaping on top of roofs other other high places (Youko and Yuka) were using hinmen.

Eh. . . It's not exactly a manga. It just takes screencaps from the TV series and adds dialogue bubbles and other captions. Don't bother with it. 12K is based off of a series of novels, anyway.

In terms of the quality of the story, I've seen comparisons to "Seikai no Monshou" and "Seikai no Senki". They're of a different genres (science fiction) from 12K, but I do agree that they're quite good.

Because the character designer for the 12 Kingdoms series is currently having health problems, no more episodes of the series past the current 45 will be produced.

Well, even if there'll be no more novels and therefore not enough content to make up another season, the least they could do is release an OVA based on Asogare no Kishi, Akatsuki no Sora. . .

I recall reading that some were mono for the dubbed track, but the Japanese track was fine.

The last part of Taiki's arc lacked anything that could be used to further Youko's story so it was never animated (or so that's what the animators have claimed).

Awesome post! I had just been wondering recently about the closeness of the 12K world to either ancient China or Japan. Having little knowledge of either, I was unsure of which the world was closest to.

Yeah, I was thinking that when I finish school, get a job (hopefully in my field), and move out I might just skip having cable TV and get a cheap business account. It costs $65 (Canadian) as opposed to the $25 that a standard account costs, but has a 50 GB per month limit. Admittedly, my downloading ...

It seems to me that alot of ISPs really haven't moved much beyond dial-up in terms of estimating internet usage.

Looks like I'm gonna have to save up bandwidth specifically for 12K. My ISP appears to have gotten a little pissed off about my downloading habits, which are admittedly quite extreme. Apparently, I'm supposed to limit myself to 1.5 GB per month -- which is slightly better than nothing. This means 51 ...

Well, I could see them releasing OVA series to finish everything off, treating them more as "spinoffs" of the anime. ("Spinoffs" because they don't deal with Youko at all.)

When they showed Taiki back in Hourai he was around 14-15....so when he comes back to the 12 kingdoms he should be around 17-18(?).

He had definitely fallen sick with the shitsudou. . . Anyways, I doubt that the empress would have resigned if she didn't think Keiki would die.

It might be that the context was a little messed up. Perhaps no kirin has ever recovered from the shitsudou as a result of the Emperor/Empress suddenly changing his/her ways. . .
