It's so strange how a symbol can represent so many horrible things.

But so many good things too!

For instance, buddha's foot print, good luck, etc...

Tentei loves the porn...

that'd explain the seemingly useless "parts" now wouldn't it...

-__-;;; tentei's the horniest god i've ever served.

I've served many gods in the span of milleniums, but tentei's definitely the horniest one. I guess it's expected of a god of the 21st century.

It's good to know that they didn't *omit* the Chinese swastika in the anime because of baby jesus. I wonder if the stupid mothers of american kids will burn JK DVDs if they spot that out in the show? LOL God why are women so insane? (Referring to the Harry Potter book burnings)

They'll probably notice it and have a heart attack though, I didn't quite notice it at first then I skipped back afew frames and saw it.

... from what I can tell.. the nazi's tilted the swatstika 45degrees...

(presumably since turning it upside down doesn't do much... except make it mirrored, which most people wouldn't notice anyway) ;)

anyway...
the swastika itself is still pretty much defiled.. since most beings who live on this puny planet gets reminded of the nazi's everytime they see it.

that is all,

Yeah, pentagrams have been quite thoroughly demonized, too.

Huh? I'm not entirely sure what your comment is supposed to mean, but the only omitting of swastikas that is done is usually outside of Japan, and it generally doesn't have anything to do with baby Jesus. o_O

I doubt people will notice this one too easily, though, being as small as it is. Anyone who decides to make a fuss about it is probably looking a little too hard for that sort of thing.

Not true, reflecting the Svastika changes it's meaning and symbolism. Swastika (Manji in Japanese, Crux Gammata in Latin), which rotates in a clockwise direction, indicating harmony with Nature, gets its name from the Sanskrit word for "welfare". It is generally a symbol of night, magic, and good luck, and is found many places in Asia, especially old temples and palaces, as it is a popular Buddhist symbol.

Here's two photos I took at Azusa Kannon-ji in Tokyo on a recent vacation:

The Sauvastika, which rotates counter-clockwise, is generally a solar symbol, and is the emblem adopted and perverted by the Third Reich.

Note that the directions are used in a rather general and loose fashion, especially in China, where it's common to find temples with swastikas in either direction. Since 12k has a very Chinese atmosphere, I don't think the direction of the symbol should be taken too literally.

Not the Buddhist swastika, not to the Buddhists.
