Nice episode. Though a tad late. A tad spoilish (since I saw up to 44 already) - Atsuyu turns out to be a bigger creep, he's definitely leaning towards the evil side if we are talking about the D&D alignment system...

Didn't know that Taiki had actually lost his horn. Can Kirins regenerate their horns?? And how in the world did Taiki survived his horn being cut?

I suppose the murals in the beginning of each episode gave it away -> there's a mural depicting the kirins in flight - with a black one at the back...

I finally got a chance to watch 42; actually, I think he'd be more like chaotic-good than evil. Shouko was definitely chaotic-evil. At least Atsuyu claims to have the best interests of his people in mind, even if he breaks all the rules and such to attain that goal - it's not a purely personal motive. Um, at least what I remember of the older 2d rules, don't know about the new ruleset. -_-

What I want to know is how Taiki can have any control over Gouran if his horn is cut; re:Keiki's sealed horn, he wouldn't be able to control his powers at all, right? Unless Gouran isn't acting at all and it's just Sanshi going nuts the whole time... Maybe the horn wasn't discarded and can be sort of glued back on. ^^;

I want the novels!

On the one hand, there's no seal if the horn is cut off, so the shirei can presumably still act. I think we've seen the dog doing a little covert killing already, so it seems that they're not sealed away just because Taiki is seriously injured.

The shirei will stick with their master until his/her death, so Taiki doesn't really need to command them. He doesn't even remember where he was before, so I assume he doesn't remember that he has guardians at all.
