Damn ISP. . .
Looks like I'm gonna have to save up bandwidth specifically for 12K. My ISP appears to have gotten a little pissed off about my downloading habits, which are admittedly quite extreme. Apparently, I'm supposed to limit myself to 1.5 GB per month -- which is slightly better than nothing. This means 51.2 MB per day.
Pay more
(good to hear from the Great White North. Je nais au Edmonton.)
If you pay more most broadband have better services as business accounts. Can't approve of piggy-backing off businesses or institutions.

Yeah, I was thinking that when I finish school, get a job (hopefully in my field), and move out I might just skip having cable TV and get a cheap business account. It costs $65 (Canadian) as opposed to the $25 that a standard account costs, but has a 50 GB per month limit. Admittedly, my downloading habits during the summer were probably at or beyond that. . .though I fully admit I was going quite overboard. Still, if I stuck to the amount I had been downloading this month (before my ISP got pissed off) I'd probably be using only around 10 GB per month.
Right now, though, I'm living at home and my parents are paying the cable bills.
Of course, I'm guessing that if our ISP did charge us for the bandwidth overdraw it would be -me- paying, or at the very least I'd be deep in debt to my parents. . . I technically could afford to pay my parents the extra $40 per month for the business account, but my spending is bad enough already. . . Best if I just wait 'till after I graduate in the spring and get a job. . .
