How many DVDs are out at the moment?

Discuss about anything related to the Twelve Kingdoms, also known as 十二国記, Juuni Kokki or Jūni Kokuki. Talk about the novels, the anime, the writer Fuyumi Ono or illustrator Akihiro Yamada, but beware for spoilers!

There are 5 DVDs out at the moment and they go up to episode 21 or 22 (to lazy to check  ) Just watch out for the first DVD as a new version (with stereo sound) is going to be released.

Actually there are only four released DVDs at the moment; the fifth will be out next week. And yeah, it goes through ep 22 :)

hehe got mine 4 days ago. The beauty of pre-order. And that's even with international shipping. Guess it makes up for the delays I had with the previous DVDs.

So the first volume DVD has no stereo sound until they release the new version?

Also, which episodes are on which DVD?

Thanks for helping me out people. :P

The only thing that has stereo on the first disc is the textless opening :(

Disc 1: Ep. 1 - 5
Disc 2: Ep. 6 - 10
Disc 3: Ep. 11 - 14
Disc 4: Ep. 15 - 18
Disc 5: Ep. 19 - 22

And about disc 1 being re-released, it's just a rumor going around, but we are all hopeful. Now if MB would just start releasing the DVDs faster I would be happy.

Just to start a little false hope. On MB's site it says that Forgotten is Vol. 5 of 15. could it be that the last 23 Eps. are part of some OVA?

Hmm, I'm really confused about why the prices for the DVDs are so weird for me. =P I picked up Chapter Four: Reunion at the only place where I could find them. Chapter One and Four were $25.99 CAD, and Chapter Two and Three were $29.99. o_o I think I will have to wait a while for Chapter One though, I 'hope' we can get a stereo version.

What I am confused about is the mono/stereo thing... The MB homepage states the first four are in stereo, but the fifth (just to be released) is in mono O.o
Why on earth? To save space or what?
Since the first obviously have mono sound I just hope the homepage has it wrong about the mono sound on dvd 5 as well...

I recall reading that some were mono for the dubbed track, but the Japanese track was fine.

here's a link to the discussion from the time aorund the release. http://12ktp.inspirelight.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=222

All questions should be answered when you read that thread and follow the links (that work).

I'm still curious about MB naming vol.5 of 15. I wants beleive that more episodes are coming, but know in my heart it's just a stupid typo.

I believe that "5 of 15" is correct is as much as Media Blasters' contract agreed on 68 episodes, the planned number of episodes for the anime. Unfortunately production has stopped at 45 for the time being. The 68 episodes whould have spanned 15 DVDs. Just keep up hope that things will pick up again sometime in the future!
