Twelve Kingdoms OST (Soundtrack)

Post by Phainein Terra »

I've watched all the series but I didn't really follow much more than that. So... is there an official OST released for Juuni Kokki? If so... when did it come out? If not... you know if they plan on releasing one? It's got really good music and I'd like to get hold of it if I can. =D

Yes, there is an OST, and another 3 soundtracks in addition. I bought them from DiscountAnimeDVD online (search the site for 12kokuki or Twelve Kingdoms), but they are also available from CDJapan and I'm sure a few other places. I highly recommend getting the soundtracks. All of them have been worth my while. DADVD has them at $11.99 each, so it's a steal there. Hope that helps.

Discount Anime DVD

Xanthe,

Avoid DiscountAnimeDVD like the plague. THE JK DVD and CDs they offer are Hong Kong bootlegs! The creators of JK don't get a dime from these purchases.

Try deepdiscountdvd.com for legit discount Twelve Kingdoms DVDs, and cdjapan.co.jp for legit copies of the OSTs.

Good luck!

I have to disagree. While DADVD does carry many bootlegs, the CDs I received were not. The bear the official packaging and disc art, as well as the record company's logo. Also, I doubt a bootleg would have included a poster insert like the one that comes with JuuniGenmuKumikyoku (OST). I do tend to avoid DADVD for the most part, as their customer service sucks, but I took a risk and got lucky this time. They do carry both the DVD bootlegs AND the Animeworks release, but I bought my DVDs off Amazon.com. Just because a store carries bootlegs doesn't mean that is all they carry. Please be careful with generalizations.

I checked out their catalog and they appear to be all Alion releases.
I checked out CD Japan and the catalog numbers, and it appears that any legitimate imports should be put out by Victor.

Alion is , according to a number of importers I talked to at conventions, just the newest in bootleggers to emerge after Sonmay . Their copies are excellent -- but unfortunately nothing of this goes back to Victor.

Thanks, s-girl; you beat me to the punch! (I haven't visited this board in a while).

I'd just like to add that the legit JK OSTs are considerably more expensive than the bootleg versions. Extraordinarily discounted prices are nearly always indicative of a bootleg anime product.

Yeah, I'm kind of mad I fell for that. I'm considering buying the real Victor releases from CDJapan once I get a little more padding in my bank account. Grrr.
