Second Juuni Kokki PS2 Game..

Post by carlosesca07 »

Hi i'm carlosesca07, im new to these forums !
I've just got the second ps2 jk game, it's a traditional rpg, and i've found it pretty cool !!
you move around in towns and the world map and fight random battles and stuff, fight battles like in any standard rpg game and the story sequences are full diaolgues and screens like text adventures games.
Theres also a lot of fun mini games.
The story begins when Youko becomes empress and goes to learn from the old man(forgot the name) and searches for the Baku province guy, though the game is kinda different from the series from what i've seen but i can't say much beacuse i know little spoken jap and no written jap.

It's also been a while since i've finished this part of the series, and though i still have the general outline in my head i've forgotten names and details.
I would like to know if somebody can point me to place where i can get info of all characters and episdoe summares or if someone would be kind enough to tell me in not so great detail what happenes after youko comes empress trough ep. 39

What appears to be the offical US website for the 12 Kingdoms provides Character biographies, episode summaries (up to ep. 39), and other information that you might find valuable.

For those who don't want to search around and wait for bunches of pictures to load that have nothing to do with the wallpapers, here some more direct links:

Do you think these games will ever be released in the US? From what Ive seen at my local Suncoast, the anime is more popular now so maybe Konami's US division will translate the games. The cover art for the 2ed one looks wonderful.

I certainly hope they translate them. It'd be good motivation for me to get a PS2. Of course, so is the .hack// game series. Cmon, Konami, you can do it! :D

Second JK PS2 Game

Hold off on buying that PS2 for now. You can only play Japanese PS2 games on Japanese PS2 platforms or on modfied US PS2s.

Um... you know, that is something most people know about already...
aside from the fact that I wouldn't buy the japanese version anyway, as I do not know japanese. I wanted to indicate with my post that I WOULD buy it, were it available in the US.

Thankfully there is a wonderful little disc called "FreeLoader" that lets you play those Japanese games without the risk involved in modding your PS2. It simply rewrites the OS in RAM to run Japanese games. Turn off the the system and turn it back on and you're back to American. Great little tool, neh?

Acually I was slightly wrong before. FreeLoader is just for the GameCube; my friend who told me about it was wrong. However, I did some quick searching and came up with this. That'll do the same job, no hardware modification necessary.

Hearing of this makes me wish to get it as well, along with the changer. However, I do have a question. What about the memory cards? Should we invest in another one to make sure the american data and japanese data don't mess up the card?

Just wondering.

I think that would be a good idea, I lost alot of saves once due to my brother losing our memory card, I cant imagine what would happen if R2 and R1 data mixed.

If it's anything like with the GameCube method (and I believe it is) you should definitely invest in a memory card for your Japanese imports. The formatting of the card for each region is different, so you can't have both imports and domestics on the same card.

You can use your normal PS2 card, but once formatted it will only be usable for your imports and you'll lose whatever US game saves you had on the card. A simple reformatting without using the Slide-Card (or similar method) will let you use it for US games again, but you'll lose the import saves. That's why it'd be a good idea to have a dedicated memory card for imports (or more, depending on how many imports you play). It would also be good to get into the habit of removing memory cards when you're done playing so if someone else jumps on they don't accidentally reformat your memory card!

Is it possible to email the japanese website of the 2ed game and ask them if it will be translated for the US? Or will my message be scrambled since my comp isnt set up for the language.
