Some Questions...

Discuss about anything related to the Twelve Kingdoms, also known as 十二国記, Juuni Kokki or Jūni Kokuki. Talk about the novels, the anime, the writer Fuyumi Ono or illustrator Akihiro Yamada, but beware for spoilers!

Some Questions...

Post by Deadpool »

I'm a pretty big 12K fan but I do have a few questions...

01. How many actual novels are there published in Japan?

02. How many radio dramas were there and where do they take place in comparision with the episodes?

03. I know there is only 45 episodes, and production has been haulted, but has there been any current information on the cease?

04. And finally, how many soundtracks are there? I've seen a total of 4 albums and 1 single. Is this all there is?

If anyone could shed some light on these Q's for me i'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

By the way, i am the editor for The Twelve Kingdoms on TVtome.com

Thanks! you've been very helpful indeed. Its a shame that production has stopped... i'd really like to see some of those stories of the noval titles in anime form.. Seeing how there is only 23 more episodes left to take up the 68 frame.. you'd think they would continue on without the guy who is having health problems.. just for closure's sake. It seems too late for that now seeing how it ended over a year ago... i have no doubt in my mind that The Twelve Kingdoms will return one day.. whether it be more TV episodes, OVAs, or even a movie... but when is another question. Ah well.. i really hope America decides to bring those novels here. Maybe it'd be a possibility after the 10th (and final) DVD volume is released in february..

I hope they going to continue one day...hopefully he recovers or maybe they find a new animator who has a similar style.
I too wantet to see the Taiki-arc finished..its a great story after all and it kind of binds the 3 kingdoms (En,Kei and Tai) nicely together.
As for the novel there was a rumor that Del Ray was going to translatet it,but i guess they dropped it,what is a shame in my oppinion.
What's even more sad to me..it seems 12 kingdoms is widely unknown to a lot of anime-fans ..it's by far not as popular as many others, who lack in quality,story- and characterdevelopment.

Sadly yes.... I find it unfortunate that shows like Pokemon are still being produced and The Twelve Kingdoms is not...

NOt sure...... since they thought the anime cant earn them money. comparing with other anime, 12 kukoki don't have many fans. so said. dono when ono will continue with her novel.
