aren't YOU supposed to know, Almighty One...??

If God knows not what's what in his own world, then we're doomed!! doomed i tell you!!!

I haven't seen beyond ep 34 subbed yet, but from what i gather, me too thinks that enho is the ol wise sage that was mentioned. Besides this though, anyone else gets the feeling that Kantai is the bear-half-beast? I also recollect when Koukan was said to have gone missing after he was attacked, they showed a scene (quickly flashed) where a carriage (I assume it was the one he was riding in) had claw marks on the side. Initially, I'd thought they must have been attacked by youmas. However, I've come to realize they could have been bear-claw marks. Perhaps Kantai is the bear guy who...??? mighty intriguing isn't it?? @_@

Also, Shokei DID mention that Kantai must have lived an easy life prior to becoming a mercenary; maybe he was living an easy government-official type of life. @_@

*NOTE: all the above are just speculations by me. By no means do they reflect the spoiling of things to come or the view of someone who's seen the eps ahead of time. Or do they...??? mwahahaha*

I was re-watching ep 1 recently. Wow, Youko is so different then. Okay, she changes somewhat in how she comes across within a few episodes, but it's quite interesting just how much she changes. I wonder how much she is going to actually change going forwards (rather than simply her acting for the first time on how she has changed so far).

Keiki doesn't seem so different though. As usual, he's not exactly Mr Informative. However, Keiki and Youko do slowly seem to be acting more as a team recently.

I also re-watched ep 30. It doesn't seem that long ago that I watched it, but I had obviously forgotten some bits. Like a certain guy who turns up again in ep 33-4, and the fact that the bear could talk to Kaikyaku.

Can't wait for the next episode. Ahh, the anticipation. Well, most likely going to be the same once I've seen the next episode anyway.

With regards to the political side: I don't think Youko is going to go back and try to sort things out from the top down. Basically, since she can't be sure who she can trust up there, it would be better starting at the bottom, for the immediate problem ("I'm not going to let anyone else die"). This doesn't necessarily mean that she's going to go out and kill the main bad guys though. Maybe she'll just rescue Enho first. Of course, there's Asano around, and a bunch of rebellious types (ie random elements), so there's plenty of room for things not going to expectations.

It all makes sense!

If he was a high ranking government guy, he'd be immortal, which may mean he's been alive for a long time, and possibly explains why he put up a stiffer resistance than the other governors. It would also explain why he can talk with Kaikyaku.

He doesn't seem like your average merc either. Hmm, he seems a bit like the current En-ou, Shouryuu, in personality.

Anybody want to speculate yet on what roles our 3 divas will play by arc's end? :D

Well I guess Youko's position is safe but there would be at least 2 positions opening up in Kei Kingdom.

For "what next for the 3 divas":

Youko's going to have a much better idea of what she needs to do in the short term and long term (from her perspective). First thing on the menu would be some spring cleaning for the bad apples in government, maybe some new laws (or even some original ideas and methods) to help combat corruption in the long term, while working on stability of the country and improving the standards of living for the citizens. Meikun o nerae! (aim for being a Meikun)

I can see Shoukei going into government to try to help the people, and basically do what she should have done while she was princess of Hou (instead of "ignorance is bliss"). I dunno if she'll get a leg-up from Youko or not - probably have to do it the hard (proper) way. Probably what Shoukei wants too.

Maybe Suzu will settle down with Koshou (Sekki's big brother). There seems to be a bit of chemistry between them in the latest episode (maybe more on Suzu's side though).

Hard to say. Although there's obviously going to be some house cleaning once Youko gets back to the capital (with seal intact, thankfully ), she'll have to get started now to finish in the remaining episodes. First, she has to discover exactly who is loyal to her, and some of these ministers have been adept and being invisible and toying with her from behind the scenes. She's already going to have her hands full rescuing Enho, and sooner or later, someone's going to realize that that youma always seems to appear just when the mysterious girl with the fancy sword needs help...

Shoukei does seem like she'll be an easy pick for the new government in some role. She'll probably want to atone by helping make sure nothing like what happened in Hou recurs. Will she stay in Kei, though, or return home to help manage Hou? She can't be the new empress, which is a pity... she'd be a rather good candidate now. Still, I'm not sure what she'll want to do.

Suzu... I dunno. At this point, she'll be exceedingly lucky if she only gets sent back to Sai in chains without causing an international incident. Settling down in that town might be good for her, but all of those people are going to have to let go of their group once order is restored to the province. I hope she can do that. It's tempting to say she'll end up staying in the palace with Youko and Sonshou, but I just don't see it happening. She's burned too many bridges.

anyone remember the ep when Suzu brought Seishuu to Kei in that poorly protected carriage ride? If I remember correctly, they were attacked and some men in bear hides (???) and a bear appeared! They're like their own little clique of fighters.

me thinks there's someone who controlls those bear-men and masterminded them "attack" Koukan :D

*Spoilers*

In the novel, Suzu and Shoukei went to the palace to help Youko. I think Shoukei is the imperial record keeper. Keikei, the boy, that was injured also stayed at the palace. Youko is his guardian. Enho became the new Taishi. He was also the immortal that sealed Youko's sword in the first place.
