For those of you who have been following "The Shore in Twilight" on Otyaku website:
The following passage has been bugging me:
Risai is talking to Tansui (Taiki's bodyguard):
"Why did you leave Taiho's side? -- Where did you last see him?"
Risai pressed on, and Tansui shook his head.
"He was at Seiden (正殿). I was called by Seirai, and left the place to my subordinates."
When Tansui departed, the "subordinates" left their posts and Taiki was open to Asen's assassination attempt. It sounds like Seirai was part of Asen's plot. Very disturbing since Seirai was probably Taiki's third favorite person (after Gyousou and Risai). Tansui's subordinates most certainly were a part of the plot or they would have following Taiki into the garden.
What do you guys think? Have you thought of any other possible conspirators?
