Newsarama article wrote:Last week, manga publisher TOKYOPOP unveiled Pop Fiction, a line of original and licensed young adult prose titles debuting in October. Priced between $7.99 and $10.99, Pop Fiction’s initial releases will feature serialized teen novels by international creators, from Europe's best-selling Magic Moon to Asia's hottest titles, Scrapped Princess, Kino no Tabi: Book One of The Beautiful World and Witches' Forest: The Adventures of Duan Surk.
Tokyopop has published a few prose novels based on its manga properties such as Slayers, .hack//AI buster, .hack//Another Birth, CLAMP School Paranormal Investigators, Gravitation, Devil May Cry, Love Hina, Seikai: Crest of the Stars and Mobile Suit Gundam Seed but Pop Fiction is its biggest foray into the YA prose market.
later on, he mentions...
One other “big” title under the Pop Fiction imprint is Fuyumi Ono's popular The Twelve Kingdoms series of novels, slated for March 2007.
YAY! I'm sooooo happy! I always have trouble reading the longer stories online, they hurt my eyes >.<, so it will be nice to finally have it in book format.
Finally!!! I hope they actually publish it. And who know, if the novels get more international fans, maybe they will bring back new episodes of the anime. And inspire the author to write more books.

Awesome news! But a year to wait...
And also, who'll do the translation? And what will the cover art and design? I'd like to see all the original drawings and pictures.
OH mah gawd this is amazing news!! Perhaps all that publicity will get the anime going once again...that would be wonderful. When people start reading the books they'll want the anime...oooh this is wonderful!
I visited otyaku.com today. I guess ToyokoPop is going to release the Twelve Kingdoms in english in March of 2007. Harunako is going to take down the contents of his novel translations. He doesn't know exactly when. I'll be sorry to see the site go. Here is the link if you want to read it. (http://www.otyaku.com/wordpress/) I am glad that the novels are being translated.

Yes! Just what the fandom needs! I'm really grateful for the dedication and hard work of the online translators but having the novels in your hands and the ability to take them with you everywhere is just amazing. I can't wait for 2007 to arrive.

The anime was remade from the novels in such a way as to make it a more accessible series, and one of the ways this was done was to rebase the series around a central character, rather than sticking to the original idea of the different time periods covered in the books.

Is this for real? Have they officially said they will publish all the novels in English? I will hate to see the online versions go. I wonder if it's going to be easy for us to buy or order the books.
It has been said that the next book is in progress for the last five year now, and Ono-sensei has published a couple of other things during the time...
But one should never give up the hope.
