Tasogare no Kishi, Akatsuki no Sora - question about Taiki

Well, if I've got it right, when Taiki was rescued and brought back to the Twelve Kingdoms by Renrin, Hanrin and Enki, he actually wasn't Taiki anymore. By some reason he had lost most of his power as a kirin, and the source of his power - his horn, was cut off. Moreover, he was in really bad condition.

So, since the translation stops at some point (book 2), I was wondering - will Taiki ever get his power / horn back? I mean, there should be some way to heal him, right?! Otherwise he is not a Kirin anymore, and that would be really sad!

I hope someone has read Tasogare no Kishi, Akatsuki no Sora till the end and could answer my question. I've been upset because of that for a week; have to find out what happened to this cute black kirin after he was rescued! Nothing touched me as deep as his story!!! ^^

(There's no way the translation coming up soon, right? -_-')

I think Tasogare was translated to the end. Taiki is still a kirin. He's lost his horn and his shirei are being purified. He was healed by a goddess and is recovering and he's gone back to Tai with Risai.

There's hope for us though. I heard that Fuyumi Ono recently wrote a short story in the Twelve Kingdoms. It is not about Taiki or the usual main characters.

The conversation between Taiki and Keiki actually made me cry!!!

I hope after all everything will be just like that :

i finished reading eugene woodbury's translation of the shore of twilight - from what i read his translation finishes at 2 books? but tai still has to enter and save the tai kingdom... are there other translations? or was it never written yet?

There are quite a number of people who would like to see the book written, to get the answers to a lot of questions. The fate of Gyo and how Asen pulled it off are a big mystery in the series.

Frankly it's rather off putting. I'm rapidly reaching the point of stopping caring about Tai. There's only so much cliffhanger I can take.

Isn't the point that, because Taiki was swept to Horai in a shoku, and grew up there for ten years, he has lost touch with his kirin nature when he is returned to the land of the Twelve Kingdoms? Most kirin grow up in their kirin form and learn to take on the human one. Taiki has had to do the opposite. And, for the same reason, he reads his own reactions to his choice for king wrongly.

The real mystery about Taiki is that he returns to Horai again, where he experiences more trouble fitting in - all for unexplained reasons. This looks like a deliberate opening for another narrative line. I'm afraid I haven't read the books. Is anything done with this? Does Taiki make it back to Tai a second time?

That's the part of the books we were talking about. By the combined efforts of a significant number of rulers and Kirin, Taiki was rescued from Hourai a second time. However he's lost his horn and his Shirei are mad and have to be seperated from him for his health. The reclaiming of the kingdom of Tai has not been written yet.
