Discuss about anything related to the Twelve Kingdoms, also known as 十二国記, Juuni Kokki or Jūni Kokuki. Talk about the novels, the anime, the writer Fuyumi Ono or illustrator Akihiro Yamada, but beware for spoilers!
Juuni wrote:I always find easier to re (-re-re)watch the last part of the anime, Sea God in the East, Vast Sea in the West. Mainly because it involves Shouryuu and Kouya, but not only that, it seems to me that those 5 episodes are the most light hearted and warm of all the series. Perhaps it's because the story takes place in the past, we know that "now" everything is alright with the main characters and we can relax and enjoy.
Really? I found Taiki's story(Kaze no Umi, Meikyuu no Kishi) to be the most light-hearted. It also happens in the past, and most of it happened at the most safe place of the world.

Yep. Shouryuu's flashback episode was the turning point for me. My love for this series started here. And Shoryu is still my favorite fictional character ever...

Well more than one year after the last post, this thread is not living up to its title!
It's too bad to see this forum pretty inactive. I have been a Twelve Kingdoms farfor many years now, pretty much since the anime first aired. I recently rewatched the series and was reenchanted, so to speak. I happened across the fan translations online and basically read everything I could find in about a month, finishing with Shore of Twighlight and, of course, leaving me with many questions. I have nobody to discuss the books with here so I was really happy to find this forum. Even the discussion from 5 years ago are very interesting to read. It's just a shame I'm so late to the party! Anyways, I am definetly in favour of making these forums live, so please don't mind me if I start posting in some rather old threads.
Please forgive me for being such a useless empress
@Tapir12: Go for it! The series is over 8 years old, but if you can find things to talk about and start up dialog, post away! Unfortunately, work and life right now is keeping me really busy from really getting into in depth discussions.
Hello, newbie here I want to ask what is the lastest update from this book series? I saw this anime series years ago and till now I still cant find any other anime as good and intriguing as this Thanks for this forum though I've found the novel ^^ I hope the author still want to continue this series (and please finish Tai arc >,<) and finish everything
Ahh i'm pretty new myself to this series. Liking the whole world of Juuni Kokki and hoping Fuyumi Ono would finish this series. I've notice she has started up writing again in 2008-2009 hopefully she has put in some thought on how to proceed with her series. I just hope she doesn't completely abandon her work.
