Forum changes: Open, less spam, different look.

I just upgraded the forum to a new version. I hope this will result in less spam.
Zitch is now not only moderator, but also co-administrator of the forums.

New look
This is also why the forum has a new look: The standard phpBB theme.
I changed the header to our The Twelve Kingdoms design.

Open
Guests can now view all forums/topics, without having the need to log in.

Removing idle accounts
I'll be removing users who haven't posted anything and haven't logged on for at least a year.
Let's clean this place up!

Moderators wanted
Oh, and we need a volunteer for a moderator position. Anyone up for it?

The site looks good, but the removal of avatars was a bit of letdown...it was pretty nice, and made it very clear to distinguish people's posts. Oh well.

I can volunteer for being a mod: I don't log in often, but if made a mod, I will obviously log in very often: I really want to destroy these bots, it feels like my favorite anime's getting violated when I see them post here.

Yeah make Shokou a mod, still too many spam bots around writing incomprehensible posts. Shokou points them out more than anyone else anyways. And I agree, no avatars is kinda lame. Even with the limitations of the old system, it was better to at least have them.

I'll prod FireMotion about it. I've been able to log in a few days a week to clean out the few spammers by myself, but he did put up an opening for someone to volunteer...

Whoa, I'm sorry I missed a few days just when you offered to make me a mod because I got sick pretty bad...I hope the offer is still on the table.

I am here to announce that Shokou has been made Global Moderator. The Spammers have been rather quiet lately, but he should be able to help when they make their return.

Also, when you see a spam post, please don't respond to the post via the reply button; use the Report Post button (the \!/ button that should be next to the "quote" button) to report the post as spam. I try to remove any posts that respond only to the spam, but sometimes I miss those and it results in someone grumbling about a spam post with the spam post missing above it...

For now and on I will detect spammers and get rid of them, then zitch will clean them out. I'll check them out pretty much everyday, so this should make the place cleaner. But don't be scared, I'm only here to kill spammers. You can and should discuss and post here normally should you be human, kirin, shirei or hanjyuu.
