Any news on When the next book will be translated?

Post by KShadeslady »

I've heard that the author doesn't want to have any more of the novels translated or there is some problem and they don't want to finish them. Has anyone heard this or is there any new out about this? I just found this forum. I would love to see the series finished. It is beautiful and I have loved reading it. I want to see it finished. I would love to see the anime series finished as well.

Even if the creator sounds like a bot, I would like to second the question as to when will Tonan no Tsubasa be translated, and if there's anyone working on it.

I think Tokyopop dropped the project. They don't have the license anymore, it's now with Kodansha USA. It's highly doubtful the books with be officially translated and published by them.. at least there are no indications of anything in the near future.

Mab, Thanks for that info. Since I am new to the anime/manga world a lot of what I read in these blogs/sites is hard for me to understand. I'm really just trying to find out more about the series, it is like learning a new language. I would be happy if they just finished the translations on the books. The last one was not done as well as the first three, even I found a lot of errors. Anyway, thanks for your input.

Yeah, the last book wasn't done very well. There were tons of spelling mistakes, grammar mistakes, and references to wrong character names. Hell, a whole chapter was omitted. I knew right there that the project was done honestly lol. I was a little hopeful that they would finish the others, but I think that kind of spelled the end of it.

You can find the rest of the translations online though, they have been fan translated, every book has by now I think. If you look around this site enough you should be able to find links to them.

Significant chunks of Tonan no Tsubasa have been translated, but it hasn't been finished and the translation's English isn't the best.

Thanks for the response and I hope it does get finished: I am really curious about this story, moreso than anything involving Taiki.

It seems that the next book is finished and is scheduled to be released by the end of this year (~October). It will have two volumes and will continue Taiki's story (of course, thank you Mrs. Ono T__T). Also Demon Child will be published again this July.

^If you're a spambot, you're good. I'm leaving your post intact for that.

There are no links other than twitter in the post, and no urls were in Zedta's profile, so I think the account is a real person, who linked to news that seems legit. So we are looking forward to the next part of the Twelve Kingdom novels to be released in October this year.

This is a big *&^%ing deal, as Joe Biden put it. Really good news that seemed to have come out of the blue, since I've not heard that Fuyumi Ono was working on this. Hopefully, the fan translations come soon (since I see no way of getting a translation through official channels anymore...), and, if I dare hope, a continuation of the TV series? Maybe even in OVA or Movie format? Well, not expecting that to happen though...

Sadly the anime studios are too busy animating crap involving 10-year old girls so I don't count on a continuation, in fact I always wonder how come Studio Pierrot, a studio that mostly animates bull, did such an amazing job with Juuni Kokki. Oh well, I hope the fan translations come soon. Especially completing Tonan no Tsubasa...

This is all good info. Thanks everyone. I don't come here very often, so I was delighted to see the responses to my original question. @ Shokou, didn't know what a "bot" was, so I looked it up. No I am not , honest. Just someone who loves the series and wants to read it all. I love connecting with others from around the world who have the same interests as I do. I learn from you all. I am older, in my 50's, and new to all this, but I love it. I used to be in the Air Force and I traveled a lot, I miss that, so this is my way of connecting with others.

Hopefully you aren't, because I've never heard of people over 50 enjoying Juuni Kokki. If you aren't a bot, you're an open minded person which is positive.

No, I'm not. But I have always loved reading and drawing fantasy and science fiction. My daughter and her boyfriend knew I would love 12K and it was the first series they had me watch. Made me read the books first. It is hard for me to watch a lot of animated shows as the art is awful. I like great art and a good story. I've met a lot of other people my age here in the states that really love anime too. There are a few of us out there. Cheers.

Glad to hear that, and hopefully more aged people and people in general won't have prejudice against good animated shows. As for the bot thing, I am sorry if it offends you, but I get bots almost every day, and sometimes they sound like real posters.

No worries, after 20 years in the military, I have a fairly thick skin. I was a military weather forecaster and I can tell you, we are butt of many a joke. You have to be careful on the internet, you never know who you are really talking to. Being a little suspicious is not a bad thing. I just wasn't aware of the terminology, so I had to look it up. Well it is late here and I am going to bed. Cheers...

Haha, I suspect you have to be playful to be able to withstand the assumingly heavy atmosphere of military facilities. You're welcome to post and discuss with us when you feel like it.

This is why I like the internet, I can interact with people who share interests with me even though they're thousands of kilometers away from me.
