Nothing to do with the old (and rather forgettable) Sega console. No what i'm talking here is... if you were going to film a live series of the Twelve Kingdoms, who would you pick as the perfect actors to play the charactors?

I want to stick my oar in the water right away and point out my two top picks.

For Shouryuu (Naotaka Komatsu) the king of En, who else could fill the role as perfectly as Robert Downey Jr?

And for Gyousou Saku the king of Tai, I would probably pick Christian Bale. Thier cheekbones have the same sharpness, and a lot of the characters he plays have a certain gravitas to them.

I imagine that Rakshun would probably need some Golem-style CGI to fill in, but does anyone have any suggestions for Youko?

I don't know any actors so I have no idea...but I don't want to let you without any response, so I say I'd pick Japanese and Chinese actors who look the most similar to the characters.

Hm... I was thinking for Youko maybe... Kiera Knightley, she might be able to pull off red-head if she tried it. Or maybe Scarlett Johansen but in her earlier years like Pre-Girl With A Pearl Earring. I don't see many movies so i'm not too good with younger actresses or actors. Maybe that kid from the transformers movie for Asano?

They look good I guess? I have trouble imagining real people as Juuni Kokki characters. I would however love to be able to play as them! Considering I'm too lazy to cosplay, it would be the perfect opportunity as the studio would arrange all clothes and make-up necessary.

I hear that! You should google and image search of Hanfu (or Hanfuu) and look at some of the beautiful costumes. I did when i was doing research for the Convenient Queen (because I wanted to get the details right) and I saw so many of them that I thought "gosh! it would be so fun to try that on in cosplay, too bad I'm sooo broke!" I wish someone would do a fanart of Yuka in hanfuu.

Yes, I love hanfus! Shame most image searches give female hanfus, but I really like the idea of wearing male ones, such as Shokou's: so neat! I love the orange details.

with Shouryuu its hard to tell which he looks hotter in; that piratey casual clothes he wears when he's disguised as Fuukan, or the cool kingly hanfu he wears as king of En. Of course, I think the same about Gyousou; he looks cool in armor and in imperial robes!

My favorite Shoryuu is the royal one because I consider it as his true self...I also really liked him as Komatsu Naotaka in armor like when he was fighting the Murakamis. I prefer Gyosou in armor because I feel like it's how he built his virtues.

Rakushun: Maybe Jonathan Groff (?)
