Tidbits re: JK in July

Discuss about anything related to the Twelve Kingdoms, also known as 十二国記, Juuni Kokki or Jūni Kokuki. Talk about the novels, the anime, the writer Fuyumi Ono or illustrator Akihiro Yamada, but beware for spoilers!

Tidbits re: JK in July

Post by Atosryac »

According to NHK's site (See: http://www3.nhk.or.jp/anime/faq.html#12kokuki ), the new episodes in July will start with the one-shot "Jougetsu". This is one of five short stories from the "Kasho no Yume" collection (novel #11), set in Hou not too long after "Kaze no Banri, Reimei no Sora". After skimming through the short story, it looks like the 3rd audio drama on the JK drama CD will fit right between eps 39 and 40 of the anime. (BTW, one other short story from has already been animated: "Shokan" -> anime episode 22).

Next will be 5 episodes dealing with the 5th novel "Higashi no Wadatsumi, Nishi no Soukai". This is set 20ish years after the current En'ou took the throne. A piece of this novel was also touched upon in anime ep 12.

...And here I was expecting them to continue with "Tasogare no Kishi, Akatsuki no Sora" (novels 9-10), which would continue Taiki's story. Oh well, I guess they'll get to this arc sooner or later.

Yes, they won't leave the Taiki arc half done.

They may do an arc on the kingdom of Ren as well.

Well according to the faq there are no plans to broadcast the other half of the taiki story yet.... But if they do have new plans they will notify it on the nhk website. I'm assuming they will sooner or later :)

Sounds like a "Look for the Juuni Kokki OVA! Coming... uh... someday!"

Or, possibly, just a, "What? That character doesn't just get dropped at random in the middle of the series? Uh... we... uh.. might put him back in. Yeah, that's it. Maybe."

Actually, that's just talking about no planned rebroadcast of the 3rd arc, 風の万里 黎明の空, or "Kaze no banri, reimei no sora". The 2nd Taiki arc is 黄昏の岸 暁の天, or "Tasogare no kishi, akatsuki no sora". No mention's made yet of the latter. :(
