I just got the chance to watch 35 earlier today and here's 36 already. Perfect! Now I'm dying for 37.
Jeez Asano...even if he gets sent back to Japan he's gonna need some serious mental help. Apparently we won't be seeing any more of the gun? Just wait til Youko figures out that he shot Kei-Kei...now that will be interesting.
Each episode keeps having better and better cliffhangers. This is just too much, I can't wait!
I've got a very bad feeling about this: What's the one reason we've seen kirin fall ill so far?
It seems that Youko's falling into the trap I hoped she'd avoid, sacrificing the people to get at the root of the problem. The shirei realized it, too, when they asked why she was allowing them to kill now after trying not to kill anyone. It kind of reminds me of En-ou's actions in the translated chapter of one of the novels: "Close your eyes, and let me do what needs to be done." She'd better not end up like the reflection in the sword. Already, we have 100 rebels holding a safe house against several thousand troops plus however many winged riders Gahou decides to send. Now Youko's out in the open. Hopefully, she has at least one shirei around to watch her back.
There's not really much to say about this one... I just hope Youko does the right thing. At least she showed up to help try to take the guy alive. His look was priceless when he realized that he'd forgotten to guard his own palace.
I like the rebel guy's entrance later. Reminds me of Master Yupa from Nausicaa.
Next episode should be cool, if it's not an extremely bad outcome. RETURN OF THE BEAR. Also, apparently the three girls reunited.
What was the meaning of the image Yoko saw herself in her suiguutou sword in place of the Third Advisor who was shot by arrows ?
That those soldiers who busted into her dinner were actually aiming for Yoko?! It makes sense now that we know those ministers really want Yoko dead, Shoukou at least. And that that Third Advisor was actually making it look like she's the one doing the assassination to shift the focus of who would be killed ?
my guess is that they wanted to limit the people who had influence on Youko's descisions... thus, the advisor was the target. to either kill her, or to put her in jail...
youko might've realized now that the advisor was a good person.
The sword shows her the insecurities of her own mind. If she fails in this reverse-coup, she runs the risk of being shot down like the minsiter that tried to betray her. I don't think there's more to it than that... yet. If there was, the monkey would be out laughing at her.
About the advisor being good, her assassination plan, at least, seemed to be genuine, judging from her reaction when the guards burst in. But it might be possible that they were manipulated into seeing Youko as a threat, if they weren't already rotten from the previous administration.

They weren't there to assasinate Youko.
They were there to kill Uikyo the former Taishi. They successfully managed to get rid of Koukan's remaining supporters within the Kinpa Palace. The three advisors and The Tenkanchou / Taisai, Kaki.
