other animes

Anyone recommend any animes that they've been watching lately? Here's my list
Tsubasa
xxxHolic
Ergo proxy

I want to watch bleach as well, but I'm having trouble downloading the older episodes (also scrapped princess, the torrent's really slow...)
I'll probably just end up buying them on ebay

I've been stuck at Vol 4 of Samurai 7 for 2 months, hard to continue because I cannot accept Kyuzo's death. :(

FMA is one of my all time favorites. After you finish the series, watch the movie, it brings closure to the story.

I've been keeping up with this anime. I've read up to volume 7 of the manga and enjoyed it.

Mushishi is pretty good, I'm watching it currently. What kind of anime are you interested in?
Suzumiya Haruhi
School Rumble
Ohran High School Host Club
Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni

I just read the date you posted this, so I'm guessing you probably already saw the anime that I mentioned :?

Mushishi - Awesome (goodness... in vignettes)
The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi - Very Good (funny and entertaining)
Death Note - Good! (psychotic (in a good(?) way) / detective)
Ouran Koukou Host Club - Good (funny and entertaining)
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - Good (weirdness but involving)
Code Geass - Good! (political / strategic / pretty)
Heroic Age - Good potential (think gundam seed and fafner but a little better)
Stellvia - Very Good (a fresh, new approach to the whole "we are little kids piloting humanoid robots in space")

For what it's worth, and although the series is aimed at people a little younger than me, I thought Scrapped Princess was a great bit of stroytelling. I couldn't stop myself from watching the whole thing twice.

The idea is most inventive, and the art work is quite appealing to look at, with the occasional lapse. The depiction of religion as a delusory interference with human freedom really surprised me, in a film aimed at 15 year olds. But, live and learn, whatever your age.

I'll post some of my favorites, that I think everyone should check out.

1. Full Metal Panic! - The entire series is amazing(Full Metal Panic!, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu, and Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid). It is Drama/Comedy with a touch of sci-fi, and the cast of characters and voice acting(english) is incredible, maybe one of the best dubs ever. The reason I love this anime though, is the fact that even if you don't like anime it's incredibly easy to get into. The comedy is effortless, it just flows. It's a show that is easy to connect to.

2. Infinite Ryvius - A lot of people like to compare this to Lord of the Flies, but I think it is pretty unique and has a lot to set it apart. This is one of the best drama anime I've seen, and again another good dub. This is a sci-fi space opera type anime, but that's really not the focus, it is a drama character study type show when it comes down to it. This anime went way under the radar, and I think it deserves more views.

3. Hajime no Ippo - This is an anime about boxing. But, it's a show that has great personality. Even though it's about boxing, even if you don't like boxing this show has so much suspense, you'll be hooked.

4. Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal - This is just a great movie. There are so many different things happening in this movie, it's almost poetic, and ironic. Just so many themes, a great movie. If you didn't know, this is the backstory to Rurouni Kenshin. Even though i'm not a big fan of Rurouni Kenshin, I love this movie, it's amazing.

5. Yu Yu Hakusho - A fighting / tournament type show. But, this show has some great comedy aspects to it as well. Another show with a great dub. This show has some great art, and the fights are very entertaining. This show is pretty unique.
