I didn't see this mentioned here, but there are reports that Ono put out a new Juuni Kokki story in the fiction magazine yom yom. It is reported to be set in the kingdom of Kei, titled Hisho no Tori, and will be 90 pages.
We probably won't be getting the translation of it anytime soon, but it does bode well for the future of this franchise if Ono is still writing and releasing stories.
To me, it's sounding like the story is a one-off, but I have so little information (and I can't read Japanese).

its about one of the court wizards set around yoko coronation as king
The wizard remembers the past 3 female kings before yoko it gives more history of how the kingdom was like when Yo-oh was king and the disappointments the 3 female rulers have been
although the translation isn't finish yet
but what i read its good
yet i wish the focus could shift back to the other kingdoms since the 12 kingdoms is a story that is a story about everyone
also this story isn't about Tai maybe she wrote herself into a wall
and i think the next book could be about another kingdom else than Tai since Tai is realy complicated which is why i think she took a break from the 12 kingdoms
and to fully get back into the kingdoms she could start with something else and then go on to Tai
since her last book about Taike did had some problems
Yet i remember when i read the book about the Sou young king it was very good
Sometimes writing about the same characters can be a bore a new kingdom would push her to write more
also i hope sometimes translates this story
