I think Tokyopop dropped the project. They don't have the license anymore, it's now with Kodansha USA. It's highly doubtful the books with be officially translated and published by them.. at least there are no indications of anything in the near future.

I happen to think Wolf's Rain is one of the most overrated anime I've seen. It's got an amazing soundtrack, but the actual anime was just ok for me, nothing special.

I would recommend Crest of the Stars. I've read the novels and seen the anime, and just in terms of "world development" it is just as solid and thorough as the Twelve Kingdoms. There are literally no flaws.

Nope, I meant Shoukei. She is probably my favorite character. And I doubt the Kirin would have been lynched. Normal people don't even have access to the palace or anything. And there was really never any feeling of contempt towards her from the people, just at the King.

Shoukei is probably my favorite character in the series. So, I do agree that you don't need to be a kaikyaku or taika to be a good character either.
