where to get the novel?

hi i'm new, joined many weeks ago, but nvr really posted ^_^'' hehe...

i've got to know this great anime from tv...and got hooked! now i'm really intent on getting the novel...in total how many volumes are there? where can i get them? are there any english versions of the novel? i can't wait for 12K-TP to translate all of it...so i'm going to buy it first ^_^ :p lol

There are seven novels and a short story collection, but four of the novels may be divided into two volumes (depending on which edition you get).

Go to http://www.amazon.co.jp/ and search under 本 or 和書 for 十二国記.

are there any english versions of the novel?

There are no licenced, commercially available translations in English. There are, however, a couple of other websites where fans are working on unlicenced translations:

Harunako has the short story Kasyo no Yume -- Toei [The Dream of Kasyo - Prosperity in Winter] completed and the start of three of the novels, Mashou no Ko [Son of the Demon], Tasogare no Kishi, Akatsuki no Sora [The Shore in Twilight, The Sky in Daybreak], and Higashi no Wadatsumi, Nishi no Soukai [The Sea God in the East, The Vast Sea in the West]. there's a kinokuniya bookstore in my country...is it possible that i can get the novels from there instead of ordering online? coz it will be quite costly for me to do so, plus my parents won't allow me to use their credit cards...

are you by change from singapore? juuni kokki is aired at tv and there also kinokuniya in sg also....

yup i'm from s'pore and although junni kokki is aired on tv, i've missed several episodes. plus the anime series doesnt cover as much as the novels do, and is in a sense 'not the real story', so that's why i prefer to get the novels first...though i don't understand japanese at all lol. maybe i'll take up japanese lessons when i have free time. do you think kinokuniya will have junni kokki? i hope so...

well I am new around here and I have become fairly interested in the story that I would like to know where I can rceive active translations of projects that have been discontinued or have otherwise been delayed, etc. I am eager to read the translations... as many I can get.
